Chapter 5

Half an hour passed quickly and we were already at the station. How to describe this station platform? It seemed to be built in the primeval forest, as the surrounding plants were so huge and dense, but the modern simplicity of the station showed a more mysterious aura here.

We were sorted in accordance with the position in the vehicle, a group of four people got into the SUV. The destination of this drive was the place where our female live.

The males had separate cabins, but of course they were not in the same place as our living quarters. In my opinion this only added to the difficulty of sniffing out a favorite perfume, but nothing else was special.

According to the arrangement of the train seat at the beginning, Dale and I would stay in the same room. But I was the daughter of the Alpha, and without any preferential treatment, this status would be an ornament. I could move into a separate single room and wouldn't have to crowd the suite.

"I'm so jealous. If my dad had tried harder, I could have followed you and had fun."

What was going on in her head, why was she expecting her dad to try harder here. I rubbed her head and dragged my suitcase away. But this life of an Alpha daughter didn't usually bring just a few benefits.

My suitcase and bag were casually thrown at me, and then I happily laid down on the bed. It was so comfortable; my back was about to fall apart after a long day of riding in the car today.

Just as I was lamenting the comfort and pleasantness of the bed, Ila's voice came back on the indoor player.

"Please assemble in the lobby immediately, repeat, please assemble in the lobby immediately."

I got up immediately and rushed to the hall, where Lady. Ila was already standing on the podium, which was a dozen centimeters above the ground, just enough to witness all the people and to let them see her.

This was the first time I saw her in person. Not too much beyond my expectations, she was more temperamental in person than in the photos. The blonde wavy hair was casually draped behind her head, and she was wearing a pair of gold-rimmed glasses, with dark blue eyes hidden behind her thin lenses, which also possessed an overly icy aura.

I was still very curious about her experience, and I'd love to know why she left Blood Moon Pack after her husband died. If there were so many hidden problems just from not having a child, I thought my positivity was dissipating completely.

"Starting tomorrow morning at seven o'clock, the hunting ritual will officially begin. All the females here now, you're arrived from all over the world for this hunting ritual. We'll spend three days together in this building, I hope nothing will happen to you.

Now I am going to announce the schedule from tomorrow morning, please listen carefully.

Tomorrow at seven o'clock we need to all leave the accommodation area, and then head to the hinterland of the forest. There is an underground cave where we will rest and wait for the males to finish their confirmation of the existence of their mate. After that they will have a chance to choose. If their mate does not come to this ritual, then the males can either opt out or stay on as a spectator for the ritual. The hunt will begin after the males have been identified.

Until sunset, everyone can catch as much prey as possible. Showing the ability to hunt before seeing your mate is also an important reference of ability, and it would be worthwhile for every female to pay attention to it."

I certainly neither had to work this hard, nor did I have to work hard in front of the others. Tomorrow's task was very simple, I just had to not fall behind. Looking at the seriousness and strong sense of competition of the people around me, I was much more calm.

"If you have any questions, ask now."

Someone really raised her hand, "Hello, I would like to ask at which point the female will confirm that the mate the male thinks is her?"

"That's the day after tomorrow, and at the same time, the males will start meeting with the mate, and if it goes well, they can finish marking and then start hunting in groups immediately."

If that's the case, the two days after that would be spent doing this, so at what point would I beat my mate up for good...

"If there are no other questions, everyone can be dismissed. Please go back to your respective rooms and rest, do not run around or leave the residence, thank you for your cooperation."

I walked with the flow of people in the direction of my room. Just then, Dale suddenly scurried out of the crowd, and she took my hand as soon as she could, and then she attached herself to my ear.

"Do you want to come with me to my sister's room? She told me she met someone who wants to be Alpha Wyatt's mate."

The first half of her sentence, if it made me want to say no, the second half turned on my curiosity straight away. I still hadn't seen her before, but I now had a good feeling about females who were trying to get her mate, and was especially hopeful that they would succeed.

I looked around and after seeing that I was not spotted, I quietly followed Dale to another room.

The woman who couldn't think clearly was Shirley Wood, daughter of Paraselene Pack's Alpha, who was the same as me. As I entered the doorway of the room, I began to smell a strong scent.

"That's one of the things they're working on." Dale explained in a whisper in my ear.

I didn't quite understand it, unless there was something else magical in this scent, otherwise this was just a simple amplification of her scent, so wouldn't it just be a consideration of how strong the perfume was?

" I am Beryl Brain."

I shook hands briefly with Shirley, who was interested in me because I was also the daughter of the Alpha. Her green eyes were very beautiful, and after staring at me closely for a while, she blinked her long, slender eyelashes and asked me in a sweet voice, "You're Alpha Brain's daughter, right? You look a lot like your father."

I nodded my head.

She continued, "I have to sigh that you are also a beauty, if you compete with me, I shouldn't have much chance of winning."

My eyelids fluttered, not sure why she said that. Was she being too competitive? Why make an imaginary enemy out of me?

"I don't have any interest in Alpha Wyatt, this is my first time participating in a hunting ritual, and to be honest I don't believe in meeting my mate in one round, so I'm not going to interfere with anything."

She was a little surprised, and there was even some incomprehensible hidden meaning hidden under her facial expression.

"No wonder we're the same age, yet I feel like I've never seen you at a hunting ritual before. I've been to three hunting rituals, but..."

Just then, a woman named Jane came over next to me, and then she deliberately lowered her voice, "So do you all know what really happened at the hunting ritual three years ago? Why would Alpha Wyatt be that angry?"

Shirley suddenly glanced at me, and then hesitantly spoke, "I heard that the White Moon Pack, who was hosting the hunting ritual at the time. They used some tactics to calculate the Alpha Wyatt, who had broken the trail of tracing mate. Of course this was not the most excessive thing. The Alpha of the White Moon Pack sent his Daughter to Alpha Wyatt's bed requesting him mark her, so Alpha Wyatt burned down his cabin with a fire and left in anger.

It is said that after that, he lost his ability to perceive his mate completely, and he attacked White Moon Pack afterwards, but White Moon Pack gave him all the antidotes, none of which cured him, and he probably just assumed that he wouldn't be able to find mate."

The veracity of this version aside for now, but it sounded like this Alpha Wyatt was a complete victim. After all, a story told by his avid suitor, and I thought the authenticity might be lower.

But I immediately understood exactly what the deeper meaning of the look she gave me earlier was, because the pack that hosted this year's event was our Blue Moon Pack. I rubbed my cheek and looked away as if I didn't care.

"That said, has everyone only thought about how to fight for it? But what if the male you meet is someone you don't like? How do you generally refuse like that?"

After my words fell, everyone suddenly burst out laughing, even Dale couldn't stop laughing. I looked at them blankly, but none of them gave me an answer, and finally it was Dale's sister Eloy who came over and took my hand.

"You are such a beautiful and lovely woman." She sat down next to me, "The thing is, for a variety of reasons, not many mates find each other and mark successfully each year. The ones that do succeed tell us how sweet and happy they are, but the ones that don't are not vocal about it, so we don't often know their stories.

You are the daughter of an Alpha; why would you worry about such a thing? Go back to your father's pack if you are not satisfied with him, and if he has the guts to go after you, let him see the power of the Blue Moon Pack warriors."

I suddenly felt relief under the comfort of this sister, things turned out to be so simple, I nodded gratefully, "So that's how it is, thank you for telling me."
