Chapter 7

Ila had to stop every now and then to spur on those at the back of the line, so she spent most of her time in the middle of the line. Dale was almost able to join me, but with my wolf's physical advantage and her need to help Eloy, so I stayed in first place all the way to the entrance of the underground cavern.

I didn't know my way around, but I knew the Blue Moon Pack warriors, and Axell was standing in a very prominent place, winking at me as he passed me. It was great to see a fellow from the same pack, and it was a rare relief from the silent depression I'd felt on the road, my features spreading and a faint smile on my face.

He walked up to Ila and had a brief conversation with her. I probably heard something like "ready", "anytime".

Ila then followed him to the front.
