Chapter 19: A Change of Venue

Angela spent the better part of the morning sobbing into her pillow. It was all too much. She was bombarded with memories she didn’t want to associate with the hell she was currently facing. She was overwhelmed by every emotion she’d been trying to keep at bay since she woke up in this horrible place.

Eventually, she fell back asleep, too exhausted from her crying fit to attempt anything else. When she woke up, she tore into her snack cakes and one of the sports drinks. She was physically depleted.

“Pretend you’re on vacation,” she whispered to herself. What would she do if she was on vacation? She hadn’t taken a real one since Daniel’s accident.

She began a circuit of gentle yoga, stretching and relieving pain from her sore muscles. When she was satisfied with how loose her body felt, she stretched back out on her bed and grabbed one of the books from the bag. Vacations were for light reading.
