Chapter 20: No Time to Die

Diego was in agony as he left Angela’s room and locked the door from the outside. This was such a sh*tty situation. Seventy-two hours ago, his big concern was whether or not Angela was sleeping with her new boyfriend. Well, that and the 10 tons of coke he’d had to move last night. Even that was easy compared to keeping his ex as a prisoner on his boss’s compound.

When he left her that first day, he had every intention of coming back to take care of her. Germaine was a sadistic a**hole, though, and made sure that Diego was swamped with busy work. He’d had to collect money from all of Germaine’s business – something that was usually tasked to one of the new guys, then he had to meet individually with every supplier to take orders for new product.
