The next day, disaster struck. The city was being overrun by monsters. There were orcs, ogres, serpents, and wyverns. Orcs are large humanoids with immense levels of strength. They usually use blunt weapons or axes. Ogres are also humanoid monsters but resemble a human more than an orc. They can use magic and tools. Serpents are large snakes with elemental abilities. And wyverns are four-limbed flying lizards, unlike dragons which have six limbs. And they were terrorizing the city. There was fire everywhere, and rubble and bricks were scattered all over the area. And so many dead people.
"H-How did this happen?" Heleh said with a trembling voice.
"Everybody, evacuate!"
Everybody started running outside of the city walls. Some people made it, some didn't. And then a giant wyvern landed right in front of Heleh. It was an Ice Wyvern, but Heleh knew he was not strong enough. But there was no way to escape. So he would either have to dodge the things attacks or be the attacker. Since the space was so compact, he chose to fight back.
Heleh ran up the wyvern's wings and started ripping them apart with his bare hands. Now that the wyvern had no way to escape, Heleh targeted its chest. Wyverns are elemental creatures, meaning that their elements are genetically engineered. If both parents are fire wyverns, the offspring will also be a fire wyvern. If the parents are a mix of fire and ice, the offspring will become the superior element(which is fire). All wyverns have a sack in their chests that contain mana, that mana can then be released and manipulated into the appropriate element. So damaging that sack will hinder the creature immensely.
Heleh punches where the sack should be, causing the wyvern to stagger and tip over. He then grabbed a metal bar that was as long as his body and stabbed it into the wyvern's eye. He jabbed it at such an angle that it caused it to pierce its brain too.
All of a sudden, a rogue orc knocked down walls that caught Heleh, pinning him to the ground. After struggling to get out of the rubble, he lost consciousness due to the immense amounts of stamina he used.
Once Heleh woke up, there was no one around. No monsters, no people, and the city was no more. Everything was destroyed, even the Grande Magic School was destroyed. Heleh was able to locate the body of that wyvern and harvested the essentials. He also took the metal rod with him. He then headed for the forest, there was a large array of plants and animals in the forest. And he had experience living in the woods with that woman. And at that moment, Heleh remembered the one person who saved him. She was a mysterious woman, she wore a black robe that completely covered her. But Heleh could see that her eyes were blue and that she had black hair. Her voice was sort of angelic, well at least to Heleh.
Heleh stopped, he stared down at the ground for a few seconds and then started running into the Forest. Weeks passed, and Heleh discovered the differences between plants. He is now capable of distinguishing what plant it is, and whether it's poisonous or a regular plant. A month passes and Heleh is now well adapted to the new environment. He used the bones of the wyvern to make weapons and learned woodworking to make basic utensils. He also learned pottery and medicine brewing. Heleh now lives as a nomad, he wouldn't stay in one place for more than a few days. He also worked on getting more powerful, upgrading his magic and physical capacities. Through hard work and dedication, he reached a level past Arc-Wizard.
He hunted down many creatures, he learned armor and weapon smithing. He made Ice Wyvern armor and had cave bear daggers.
"I wish there were some wandering traders I could buy food from." Heleh then heard a scream, a scream for help. He immediately started running in the direction of the scream, with his dagger ready. Some bandits were stealing from two kids. One of them was a girl with black hair and brown eyes, she wore a dress with simple leather shoes. The other kid was an older boy with black hair and brown eyes, he was probably her brother. He wore a leather shirt, long leather pants, and black boots.
"Oi, give us what we want and you guys won't get hurt!"
Heleh emerged from the trees, he slowly walked up to the bandit and decapitated him. He then proceeded to flash step all the other bandits. He then disappeared without a sign "If there are kids out here then there might be a town nearby!" Heleh then stumbled into a town, there were lots of people. He walked around for a while, everyone was staring at him. He just stood out like a sore thumb, some people were scared or confused. Like why was there someone covered in armor and blood in their town?
Heleh then found a restaurant, he sat down but as soon as he did, policemen threatened him with swords to his throat.
"What do you seek, and why are you covered in blood?"
"Oh, shit there's blood on me?"
"Answer the question!"
"Ugh fine, it's blood from an animal that I had killed. And probably some of my blood."
"Use your lie detection, is he lying?"
"No, it doesn't seem like he's lying. Yeah, he's telling the truth."
The cop then released a deep sigh.
"We're sorry for the inconvenience, you may go about your day."
"Thank you?"
The policemen then get out of the restaurant, Heleh then orders some food and eats it. After looking around the town, he decided to just look for a bigger place to stay.
Heleh exits the town in search of a better city. On his travels, he finds small towns after small towns. It seemed like all of them were small towns.
Word spread of an anonymous person roaming the forests. Some people thought he was good, and some thought of him as an evil being.
After months of searching, he finally found a big city. When he reached the gates, some knights stopped him.
"Halt! Who are you and why are you here?"
"I am Heleh Yar, I come from the Village of Grain. And I came to seek shelter."
"The Village of Grain? Wasn't that place burned down by a bunch of bandits?"
"Yeah, it was."
"Can I go in?"
"Umm, yeah sure."
The knights put their weapons down and let him through, and at the edge of one soldier's vision. He could see his shadow moving oddly.
"Did you see something?"
"Oh, no it's nothing."
In the city, there was a blacksmith that was run by a woman. She had blonde hair, and blue eyes, and was at least the same age as Heleh. She wore a black shirt with an overall on top of that, with the top part hanging off her waist. Heleh took out the dragon bones and asked to enhance the bones to make them stronger.
"You want me to make you a Dragon Bone Katana? Sheesh, that's gonna be a bit pricey my friend."
"How much would you say?"
"Around 3,000 G's." G stands for Gilmers, which is their currency.
Heleh looks at his wallet to only see 4,023 G's.
"Fuck! I mean, sure ok."
"Good to hear! I'll start working on it right away and come back at the end of the day!"
Heleh waves back at her and walks outside to find something else to do. Heleh figured that he was in the capital just from the number of people, and the giant freaking castle in the middle of the city. "I should probably get a place to sleep for tonight. Nah, too much work." Heleh thought to himself. Heleh walked around the capital and found the adventurers guild. The adventurers guild is nationwide, they pay hunters to kill monsters and other less exciting quests. Heleh was going to join them, this way he would have a way of income. He enters the guild and sees Suzuni? Heleh looks at her, she looks back at him. Suzuni walks up to him, she was probably going to hug him. But why? Heleh thought, they only knew each other through school. Why does she care about me so much? As expected, she goes in for a hug. But Heleh backs away causing her to trip a little.
"Why'd you step back!?"
"Why do you wanna hit me?"
"Because we haven't seen each other in like a year!"
"We only knew each other through school."
"I don't care, you're still my friend!"
"Friend." That word reverberated through Heleh, through his heart and his soul. His only friend had died because he was too weak. But to have another person see him as a friend? That hit him like a train, but a good train.
"Hi."
"Hmmm, yeah. Come with me, you came here to get registered right?"
"Yeah."
"Here, I'll help you."
"Oh, thanks."
The two of them walk up to the front desk lady.
"Hi, Suzuni, who is that. Your boyfriend?" She said as if she was teasing Suzuni.
"Shut up. Heleh, this is Chare. Chare, this is Heleh."
"Hi, nice to meet you."
"Same!"
The two of them shake hands.
"So to become an adventurer or a hunter, you'll need to touch the All Seeing Power Orb. This orb reads your spirit and soul to know everything about you. It then transfers everything onto this card."
Suzuni shows a card that has all of her information and even some personal stuff. Heleh snatches it out of her hands to read the sensitive stuff. He reads a part that says " Highly fearful of cats." Heleh then bursts out laughing.
"Highly fearful of cats? You're the pussy in that situation!" Heleh continues to laugh but stops himself and gives the card back to Suzuni.
"As I was saying, all your info is put onto this card. When you have this card, it can read your mood and emotions. So there is nothing that you can hide from this card. Ok, now put your right hand on the orb."
Heleh puts his hand on the orb and the orb starts to light up. Chare then puts a card under the orb and the card also starts lighting up. After a few seconds, all of Heleh's information is on the card.
"Can I see?"
"I mean sure, no point in hiding one's true self."
"Oh, so you've become an advanced arc wizard. That's cool, wait a minute. Total human kills, 6? You've killed people?"
"Yeah."
"Hmmm, on purpose or by accident? And was it with good intentions?"
"It was on purpose, and I was saving these kids from some bandits."
"Oh ok."
She hands the card back to Heleh.
"It's getting pretty late, do you have a place to stay?"
"No, I got here today."
"Is that so, you can stay at my place. I have a couch you sleep on."
"Oh umm, thank you."
"Are you sure you can trust him?"
"Well yeah obviously, on his card or said that he had no bad intentions if ever invited to a female's home."
"Damn! these cards get specific, don't they."
"Yep. Hey Heleh, here's a tracking crystal."
She tosses the crystal toward him.
"Thank you. Also, I gotta get going. There's something I need to pick up."
"Go ahead."
"Ok, thank you."
Heleh heads back to the blacksmith to pick up his new blade.
"Ta Da! Your new Ice Wyvern Katana."
"Wow, you went all out!"
"Yep, now pay up!"
Heleh hands her the 3,000 G's. Heleh thanks her again and leaves. He then uses the tracking stone to get to Suzuni. Once at the building she was staying in, he knocked on her door.
"The doors open!"
Helen opens the door to see Suzuni working out. And she has gotten way stronger since the last time he saw her. Heleh closed the door behind him and sat on the couch in the living room. He unsheathes his new sword to see a completely blue blade, which makes sense because it was from an ice wyvern. There was also frozen vapor coming off of the blade. He then sheathes the sword and takes his armor off. He lays down on the couch and falls asleep in a blink of an eye.
Suzuni got up from doing her push-ups and stared at him. She saw his card and got a better look at it and after reading it, she understood Heleh more.
