Applying for the Position

Xian Russell's POV

Phew. Today's the day. I'm going to find a part time job to cover the expenses of my studies. But, I doubt that I can find a place to work. After all, nobody will accept a student as an employee. But! I will do everything to find a job. And Sabre Corps is my stop for today! Good thing that Alex told me about this.

*Flashback*

I was in the library of our school looking for books that talks about the companies in our area. I've been looking for a part time job for almost one week and haven't found any. All the companies I have been to doesn't accept working students.

If I haven't let that stinky old man borrow my allowance for his leisure, then I don't have to find a part time job! But he's still my father so whatever.

"Xian, come here. You said that you're looking for a company to apply a part time job right?" Alex called me while looking on his laptop.

"Hm? Yeah. Why? Did you found anything?" I asked him while sitting beside him.

"I saw a notice that the Sabre Corps are hiring a secretary for the CEO. You should give it a shot."

"Hmmm. Maybe I should. I'm sure the pay would be big enough to cover my expenses for one year. But do you think they will accept a student?" I said thinking.

"I don't know but yeah you should at least try. But isn't it unusual? They're new CEO have been there for five years but they only hired a secretary this year."

"Well it doesn't matter. As long as I get that position, I can finally have a good life." I said standing up from my seat.

"Well whatever. You better get going and get your resumé ready." He said pushing me to the door. Does he hate me that much?

*End of Flashback *

I went inside the building and it's super huge. Every employee look so professional and has a good life. Even the janitors. As expected of the world's richest corporation. I went to the front desk to ask where the interview will be held and as I went closer, there were many people that the staffs can barely handle.

At the corner of my eyes, I saw a man wearing a formal attire accompanied with white gloves. His bluish hair were a bit messy but it suits him. Wait, why do I sound like gay? He stopped behind me. Well, behind all of us.

"Ehem. Can I have everyone's attention please?" He said and everyone looked at him. I feel awkward standing in front of him.

"For those who are going to apply for the position of our CEO's secretary, please follow me. The CEO will personally interview those who are applying." He said and started walking away from us. We all looked at each other and followed him.

While walking to the venue, every employee who saw that man bowed or greeted him. Some of them just looked at us, worry evident on their faces. Then I heard some of them whispering to each other.

"I kind of feel bad for them, you know?"

"Yeah. Usually Mr. Samuel is the one who interviews the applicants."

"Ms. Sabre is strict in almost everything. Let's just wish them good luck."

We walked past them. Now I feel nervous. And who's Mr. Samuel? Questions are filling my head right now. We went to a hallway where you can't see an employee wandering around. Okay, it's starting to get creepy.

"Uhmm, excuse me sir. Where does this hallway lead us to? And who are you? I mean your position here." One us asked him. Phew, good thing someone summoned a courage to ask him.

"This hallway leads to an elevator that's only used if there are this many applicants. And I'm the butler and personal assistant of the CEO." He said and continued walking.

We stopped in front of a big door. He pushed something and it opened and we went inside. It turns out that it was the elevator. It was big and you can put a bed in here if you wanted to. He pushed the the button to the highest floor, which was 70. We waited for a few minutes before we arrive at the 70th floor. We walked down another hallway and stopped in front of a large door.

"Everyone, please wait here while I inform the CEO about all of you. Also, someone will come and help you determine which of you will come first. Now if you'll excuse me." He said and went inside the room. Then a woman around her late twenties went outside the room with a box. Maybe that's what we'll use.

"Dear applicants, please form a line and get your numbers from the box. Your luck will determine whether you're the first one to get interviewed or the last."

We then proceeded to what she said. There were about 568 people here, which was many for just one position. I finally got my number and I don't know what to feel. Should I be happy that I'm the last or be sad that I'm the last? Well whatever. This will be a long day.

----------------

1 hour later

We waited for half an hour before the interview started, they're probably getting ready. It's been 30 minutes since they started calling us one by one. And it's almost my turn. That was fast. Every person who went inside didn't even last for 3 minutes! It's only a matter of time before I get called. It's currently on applicant number 559. Eight more to go and its finally my turn. Ugghh I'm so nervous. It would be nice if I was one of the first ten applicants rather than being the last. What if I mess up? What if I don't get hired? Arrghh my anxiety is killing me.

"Number 568. Are you serious about applying or not? If not, you can go back. I don't need a secretary like you."

Huh? What was that? Of course I'm serious! Wait. What?! It's my turn? Oh God. I wa so coped up with my anxiety that I didn't hear it. I entered the room and I saw a girl about my age. Maybe she's the daughter of the CEO. She was sitting on the table with an irritated look on her face. Beside her was the woman who helped us with our numbers. I just stood there and studied her.

"Tch. You're just gonna stand there?" God her voice is so cold. It feels like winter here.

"Oh I'm sorry. I'm here for the interview. Looks like the CEO isn't here yet. Can I sit here while I wait? Don't worry I won't make a noise that could disturb you." I said and sat at the chair near the door. I heard the woman laughed and I looked at her curiously.

"What's so funny Rachelle?" The girl said with an irritated voice. Is she always irritated? That doesn't suit her you know? I mean she's so beautiful.

"Nothing Young Miss. I'm sorry."

"Tch."

The girl stood from the table and walked towards me. And boy, she has a good figure. She stopped in front of me and stared at me for a few minutes. This is getting weird. Why is she staring at me? It's like her red hues can pierce through my soul. Suddenly she slammed her left hand to the wall beside me. Our position now looks like she wall slammed me. I felt butterflies in my stomach. And her, I can see her chest. Lord, please forgive me.

"Who do you think am I?" She asked her face only a few inches from mine.

"U-Uhm the CEO's daughter?"

"Hmmm. Interesting." She said and finally released me from our awkward position. Well, it was awkward for me though.

"Samuel, bring me his resumé."

"As you wish, Young Miss. Sir, may I have your resumé please? And you can take your seat in front of the CEO." He said and took the resumé in my hands? I complied to him and sat there. Wait, what did he say? In front of the CEO? Does that mean....

"You're the CEO?"

"Yes. I'm the CEO of the Sabre Corps and Samuel is my butler and personal assistant." She said smirking.

That means, I called the CEO, the daughter? What have I done?
