The party started winding down as more parents left with their kids. Older tribe members left to go hang out elsewhere. Solomon and Abraham shifted back to their human forms in hopes of getting their sister to turn. Esther chose to stay in her wolf form, running around with the few members left. Another hour passed by, and Esther and her family were left. The other tribe members have gone home for the night. Solomon and Abraham watch their sister running around by herself in wolf form. There reminded me of when she was little, and I tried to catch her for her nap. Samantha watches her granddaughter, wondering how she will get this child to settle down.
Samantha shifts into her wolf form. She is slightly smaller than her granddaughter, but her black fur and red eyes make her a fearful sight. Before long, she is in front of her grandchild. The two are locked into a stare-down, demanding power and respect from one another. After hours, Esther gives to her grandmother and shifts back to her human form. Abraham and Solomon are swift on their feet to grab their sister once the transformation is complete.
"Hey, no fair. Let me go," screams Esther. The two boys keep their grip firm but soft. They were not trying to hurt or bruise their sister. Samantha shifts back into her human form, and the three head back into the house for the night. A new chapter of their lives is about to begin because with the shift comes new powers and begins Esther's training.
"Esther, time to get up," Samantha screamed. She drew the curtains open, and the sunlight hit a sleeping Esther in her bed. "Grandma, you have got to be kidding me," she groans before pulling the sheets over her head. Samantha pulled the sheets away from a sleeping Esther before walking out of the room. “Be downstairs in ten minutes,” Samantha's mind linked to Esther. Esther groaned again before responding and lazily walked into her bathroom. She was tired of the training, tired of the studying. Her transformation was six years ago, and although it was the happiest moment in her life.
There will always be that void in her heart. A few months after her transformation, her father, Michael, left the tribe. He was officially known to the world as a rogue. What hurt the most for her was that he was never there for her. Esther’s Hazel Blue eyes are now a solid light blue as the depression of her father leaving, and the pain of her parents consume her. Esther loses all control as the pressure of the last few years and the pain of the lack of love consumes her. Esther can no longer see as the floodgates begin. Esther fell to the bathroom floor, holding unto her chest as she tried to take control of her emotions. After hours, she finally gets control of her feelings and decides to take a hot shower. She knows her grandmother will be upset with her for taking too long. Esther finds her way downstairs, her eyes a little puffy from the crying session, but she is determined to put the pain past her and be focused. Her grandmother told her this might be the last year she would be training. The annual mating ritual is coming up, and every tribe member of age must attend. Her brother Solomon found his mate Jasmine in his first year. It took Abraham two balls before he found his mate, Desiree.
Esther enters the kitchen to grab breakfast before heading to the training grounds. Her training consisted of combining her wolf with her vampire to create a unique hybrid. She has been sparring with her brothers and many of the top warriors for the last six years. She spends most of her practice in her human form, partially shifting or tapping into her powers without turning. The other part of her training is spent in her wolf form, sparring against the warriors in their human and wolf forms. The practice is always intense; her grandmother pushes her and her brother harder every year. When she is not training, she is being tutored. Unlike the other tribe members, she could not go to school anymore, thanks to her brothers. When she was in the sixth grade, a few girls tried to bully her, and her protective brothers threatened them, and it made it to the Luna. It wouldn’t have been that, and it was only a one-time occurrence. Her brothers became known as the cloak family bullies. This didn’t sit well with Luna Samantha, and she decided to pull Esther out of school and have her home schooled for the rest of the time. Since then, Esther has constantly been studying and training. The only time she was able to relax was when her brothers’ mates would kidnap her for a girl’s day.
She and Jasmine did not hit it off in the beginning. Her brother Solomon was nervous about bringing her home as much as he loved her. Esther was his only sister, and he made a promise, a vow all those years ago that they had to get along with Esther. When the two walked into the house, Solomon at once let go of Jasmine's hand the minute he saw Esther. He had already given her the whole background story of his family. She hesitated at first but fully understood his commitment to his sister and his family. As she was to become the new Luna of the tribe and her mate, the Alpha, she needed to be more understanding and considerate. Esther thought she was beautiful but was apprehensive about her. Jasmine did everything she could to make Esther like her, but Esther was not biting. Solomon was getting increasingly nervous as his mate and his sister were not hitting it off the way he had imagined. Esther was focused on her training and studies and was not in the mood or wanted to let her guard down. Samantha, on the other hand, at once fell in love with Jasmine at first sight. She at once embraced her new granddaughter and began finding out more about her. Jasmine came from a nearby tribe and the princess to the Alpha. When Samantha wasn’t training Esther, Samantha was training Jasmine on her new Luna responsibility.
