Birthdays and Transformations

This was the first chance for her, and after many months Esther began having more transformations. By her third birthday, Esther could transform into a vampire fully. Her powers became a nuisance for anyone needing to watch her as she was prone to biting as she was also teething. They expected her wolf transformation to be not that far off, but Esther did not shift into her wolf until ten. Most tribe members got their wolf at eight. Samantha was initially worried but understood that Esther's growth would not be the same. The little girl wanted a princess theme party on Esther's tenth birthday. So, the packhouse was decked out with tiaras for the girls and bow ties for the boys. Her brothers were too old for a princess theme but would do anything for their little sister, even if it meant putting in tutus and having tea parties, which they have done many times.

Esther was dressed in a pink Cinderella dress; her princess tiara sat on the top of her head as her copper hair flowed down to her back. The little girl was a little person standing between her two brothers. She was a mere five foot one while her brothers were both six foot and six foot two getting their height and muscular build from their father. They were the hottest boys in school, but no girl could come close if Esther disagreed. Her party was filled with tea, cookies, and tiny cucumber sandwiches. Esther was having the time of her life, her baby blue eyes sparkling for the tribe to see. The only person missing was Michael; however, Esther became used to not seeing her father. He would always give her the most expensive gift but missed her birthdays. This birthday was no different. Esther was running around with the rest of the kids when some members felt a shift in the atmosphere. Esther was still, and a slow growl appeared from her. The tribe members knew exactly what was happening; many experienced it with their kids or saw the transformation. The kids were at once whisked inside the house with some of the mothers. Every shift was different; some kids could control their wolf at once, and others had a more challenging time. Warriors stood guard for those who had a more challenging time controlling the wolf in them. A wolf that could not be controlled was dangerous for any tribe and if it could not be contained in time had to be killed. Few parents saw their kids killed because they could not control the wolf and lost humanity. Solomon and Abraham went and stood close to Esther; they would do all they could to ensure that her wolf was controlled. One of the tribe members rushed to the study where Michael could tell him about his daughter's shift. He barely looked up before saying, "let me know how it goes." He was there for both boys and all the other tribe members but didn't even flinch when it came to Esther. The growl within her became louder, and a loud screech could be heard in the next moment.

Esther dropped to the floor as her bones began breaking. The pain was intense for the first transformation. The sound of bones breaking could be heard from across the yard. Many tribe members shifted quickly as they were ready to play with the new pub. A few minutes went by, and Esther's transformation was almost complete. A few minutes later, Esther's change was done. She was huge, as big as an Alpha wolf and her golden fur glistened in the night sky. What was more impressive was her eyes. It seemed to hold all of Esther's colors. Many of the warriors transformed, unsure of what was in front of them.

Samantha and her brothers shifted and presented themselves in front of her. Esther growled ferociously for a second before bowing to her grandmother and licking her brothers. The tribe relaxed as it seemed Esther had complete control of her wolf. Esther nudged her brothers and started running and edging them to play with her in her wolf form. Her brothers looked to their grandma, who nodded in agreement, and they were off. Other tribe members shifted and started playing with them. Michael looked out the window just in time to see the transformation. Esther was magnificent. He now fully understood what his mother meant ten years ago.

Esther stood proudly at six feet, her golden locks flowing in the wind. She was faster and more robust than many of the warrior wolves. Her brothers had a hard time keeping up. Samantha shifted back and watched her grandkids running around in the night sky. The moon was high in the night sky, and many pubs fought sleep. Mothers scurried around trying to get their pubs to shift to get them in for the night. At the same time, others chose to leave them in their form and deal with them when they got home.
