"So, father, you got yourself captured. You distracted one of the biggest military bases in the world so that your Barg could invade this beautiful planet?" Gunner stood face-to-face with Taurus.
Only a desk separated the father and son.
"I slaughtered them. It was easy. Now, the ones I don't kill we be at our feet. We could be masters. So, so easily." Nodded the commander, folding his large arms.
"I'm seriously considering this. I'm just some teenager, right now. But with you, I can be somebody. Somebody Barg history will remember!" The young lizard nodded.
"I'm glad you see it that way, my boy." Commander Taurus chuckled and hugged his son.
"I have one request, father." Gunner held his father close.
"Anything."
"I need to see David Jenkins. Alone."
"David Jenkins. Why?" Taurus cocked his head ever so gently.
"He's the guy with the disabilities? The one is still alive. I wanna know what he can offer us. If you deem him worthy? If he hasn't already perished under your might." Smirked Gunner, heading for the front door.
"He is alive. Have fun with him." Taurus winked.
Once Gunner shut the door and began his journey to David's prison, he shuddered.
***
David cowered in fear, wearing a t-shirt and overalls. His blonde hair had been hacked away, he was nearly bald now. The Barg wanted to examine his mind-so removing his hair seemed logical.
The eighteen-year-old saw the tall, teen Barg and without hesitation, ran for him.
"Go away!" Yelled the angered human, hands pounding Gunner's waist. The lizard gripped his hands. Not too tightly, but tight enough to reveal he was much stronger.
"Shush!" Ordered Gunner closing the door with his foot. "I'm not going to hurt you." Calmness wasn't Gunner's specialty, but he did keep his tone as quiet as he could. He'd at least attempt to sound peaceful.
"Lier!" Yelled David. He rushed to a corner of the classroom, tears falling from his eyes. Obviously, he didn't question the Barg talking in English. David had probably been told many vile things from Taurus and his army.
"I know your mother." Gunner sighed, seeing David so wound up, Gunner envisioned what horrible experiences the kid had gone through.
"No. You can't. She's dead. And I'll be dead too." David looked at Gunner, narrowing his eyes. Like his mother did when she first laid eyes on him. David crossed his arms.
Gunner rubbed the back of his neck. He continued speaking. "Julie Jenkins. Blonde hair. Blue eyes. Adopted you. She told me she'd do anything she could to get you out." Gunner sat on the floor, resting his back against the wall.
Silence filled the room. Apart from the noises outside, noises of machines beeping and Barg language.
"I don't trust you. You're evil." Nodded David.
From his pocket, Gunner revealed a photograph. A photograph from a long time ago.
Moving one foot in front of the other with the speed of a tortoise, David finally got close enough to see the image the Barg held.
"Mom. And me. On the beach." He took the photo from Gunner's grasp. "You-you have been to my house."
"Your mother misses you. And I'm going to get you out."
"Why? Won't you get killed?" David cocked his head, putting the photo in his pocket.
"I could die. I lied to get here, pretended I was heartless. Easy to do when you live in a heartless world. I'm Gunner, by the way. It's nice to meet you. David Jenkins." Nodded the Barg.
"You really going to get me to my mom?" Dave admired the anthropomorphic lizard. He had only seen the lizards while they were performing their sick experiments.
"When I take you to your mom, you both can go. I won't bother you if you don't want me to." Nodded Gunner. "For now, you need to listen to me. Okay?"
"I'll hate you forever if you screw up," David spoke plainly.
"I'll hate myself too." Gunner sighed. His breath shook.
