fix things

Don sat on the couch across Caleb both of them staring blankly at the ceiling.

" She just left without a word. Can you believe that" Caleb complained bitterly. "What did I do wrong? Not like I forced her or anything. She willingly gave herself to me so how is it my fault. Christ !!"

" chillax dude. Girls are complicated creatures. One second they are all lovey-dovey and the next they become raging hippos. I mean a clear instance is Bella. One night she makes me feel like nothing is gonna stop our love and the next day she crushes my heart like its nothing but nuts." Don stretches his legs to have a good feel of the carpet.

" Dude I get that but I have never felt this upset over one girl. You gotta help me apologise." He pleads with Don

"Nahh. An apology doesn't fix shit like this. Am one to know. Speaking from experience" He reclines on the couch

"Yeah and don't expect me to act indifferent to her especially after last two nights event. If I act coldly she'll see me as a manipulator... "

" which you are. No arguing that. Like come on dude she is not the first girl you've banged like that So why is she different " Don cuts him short.

"isn't she your friend? What's with that flimsy opinion. Aren't you supposed to aid me in making amends." He raised an eye brow at Don

"cause I know that nothing matters now. I have lost Bella cause of my stupidity. I still don't know why I said that but her nonchalant reaction killed me even more than saying those words to her. Girls are whores dude. I no longer give a damn about any of em" He sighs

"You made a mistake so don't take it out on all girls. You found a girl that took you up with all your trash. She changed her mind about you and you didn't bother finding out why. You just lashed out at her and made your own choices which backfired at you and now your taking It out on everyone. The choices you make will affect no one but you cause your the one who will live with those choices so it's either you get your ass up and go get what you want and make things right with her or you can seat back comfortably in this mansion and wallow in your own misery and come to regret everything" He stopped to catch his breath as he looked Don in the eye to see the effects of his words on him.

"when did you become so touchy and emotional? I know your right but there's no way I'll be able to face her after humiliating her like that" He whimpered.

" I don't have any advice for you cause I have never been in a situation like this but I can tell we both need help" He stood up but floundered a bit.

"Don't kill yourself over it. Just rest up bro and we'll brainstorm"

"things like this don't need brainstorming. Just follow your heart and do what you think is right"

He left Don's room and went into his.

Don laid back on the couch his eyes fixed on the ceiling. Thoughts meandered in his mind. The oddity of his situation with Bella left him flabbergasted with no room for reactions. His mind unable to conceive the slightest clue to a possible solution to solve the problem of his yearning heart. Each road he followed with a bright breathing idea ended in a sharp harsh express with Caleb's conclusion as the profitable answer to it to be the best which was to follow the heart clearly with no resistance.

..... .....

Crystal highschool students painted the streets as they proceeded to school in the Warm morning air. Most of them preferred the walk to school as they enjoyed the morning air before the entered the beclouded stuffy air of the classroom mainly as a result of the dense teachings. The classrooms were equipped with air conditioning systems but the strain of teaching fell heavily on the students who felt it fall in heat waves on them. A morning walk helped to clear their minds before the lessons. Another use of the morning walks was to mock and tease the so called outcast students who by all means had difficulty in blending in with Bella as their chairman.

This morning was rather peaceful. The seniors hurried to school no one paying attention to the person next to him. Each of them loading calculations into their heads in preparations for the big test to qualify them for the senior school cert exams. Worst of all, they were opening the qualifications test with a mathematics.

They entered the school with tensed shoulders each heading for their own classroom. Most of them knew they were going to fail since they had spent the weekend reminiscing the events from Stacey's party or having and awful hangover.

The test came in rather simply for Bella who quickly impleted the answers leaving the others to ponder over the questions even though they knew the answers weren't forthcoming.

Angie followed suitely, completing the test as fast as she could. The two left the classroom that was now consumed in dense air and waves of tension.

"You studied hun?" With one leg against the bathroom wall, Bella leaned against it. " Sorry I left you at the party. Wasn't really in good shape"

"It's okay. Am pretty chill about it" Her expressions were in opposites with her statement. She washed her hand in the sink wiping it clean with a paper tissue before facing her best friend. "So what goes on"

"nothing much. Just left that night to catch myself and get my shit together. In conclusion that night taught me that me and love don't get along."

" Crap that. Just glad we are doing okay after that. A lot happened to me though. Wish you were there. Maybe things could have ended up different and I would still be who I am" regrets washed over her, overwhelming her sanity, pushing her over the edge with tipping teases. She punched the wall to vent out her frustration which resulted in a bleeding hand.

"get that looked into at the clinic. After school you should stop by at my place. We have a lot to talk about" Her reply came in with unusual nonchalance. She left a slightly shaken Angie in the bathroom.

The students lazed around in their classes after the brain grueling test passing little grumbles as they sat on their desks. Don sat by the window staring at the juniors run around in the field in preparations for the upcoming school events. He wished he could compete as well but the fast approaching school cert prevented all senior year students from any participation excluding the chairleading captains who had to direct the new elects on how to operate as well as the drummers. The wind blew slightly fanning him and putting his troubled mind at ease. He wasn't in the least worried about the cert exams but on how to win Bella back. He looked at her images on his phone, each one causing him to smile but he wished he hadn't said what he had said that night. He felt messed up.

Angie walked into the classroom taking a chair beside him watching him stare at her best friend's picture. "don't bother saying sorry. You've lost her"

"I can still fix things right? " His eyes got watery. She nodded in negative before leaving him to his broken heart. A tear rolled down his face but he wiped it quickly. " I can still fix things ". He assured him self in a firm tone and left the classroom to find his cousin.
