[RINZLER]
"Mom, what would you say if you were alive? Would you loathe Marina for rejecting me? Would you spank me for going back? Maybe understand me? Or even reteach me about controlling lust while you tie me to a tree so I wouldn't return?
"What about the easiest route on Alpha Fisher dying? Would you have jumped on it if I had told you? Mom, talk to me, please. What would you have said? Why did you have to die? Now look, soon, I will follow you. My heart can't stand this! I want to die! I want to leave. I want to…"
"For the love of Alpha Fisher." The wolf startled Rinzler. He fell forward and hit the steering wheel. He looked around and sighed when his mind registered where he was. The wolf continued, "you moron, go, wake Alpha Fisher up, then die. Okay? You are a suicidal son of a mammal."
He lifted his head from the steering, murmuring how his wolf wasn't his and that someone switched it with his while he was asleep.
After he drove from Marina's house, he almost hit someone that he could swear appeared out of nowhere, and as such, he figured a nap would work wonders. Of course, that nap didn't happen, instead, he was in his head, listening to it conjure endless questions. One thing was for sure, if he didn't watch out, the broken bond and his dying body wouldn't be his death but rather his recklessness.
The phone that had been ringing for the past few minutes vibrated, he glanced at it and saw Bedelia's name flashing on the screen, "I am sorry, I am almost there, Bedelia." He spoke.
"Rin…zler. Hurry."
Promising he would be there in a jiffy, the call ended. What a lie! He wasn't far from Marina's place, meaning it would take hours to arrive at the Fishers' Pack. Something serious has happened to Bedelia and with no doubt, he knew it was his fault. Had he failed before he even began?
While he drove slowly to the Fishers' Pack, he wished he could go back to his mate and explain everything, the unsettling feeling below his stomach was increasing in a way he found disturbing. Now, he wasn't that enthralled by the whole situation.
His wolf, feeling the drop in his energy, asked softly, "when did you eat last?"
"I don't know. A day ago or two. I don't know." Rinzler replied. He rolled down his car window and looked outside, unshed tears brimming in his eyes, he pouted and whispered, "I am a lot of things but being suicidal isn't one of them."
"Mmh. But back there, you almost killed us. You can't kill us."
"I promise I won't." Rinzler rubbed his eyes, took deep breaths, and applied force on the gas.
The wolf said in a sweet tone, "we should claim her, mmh, a bite on that leg of hers won't suffice. Did you see how slender and juicy they were?"
Rolling his eyes to the farthest back of his head, Rinzler responded, "I am glad you are with me."
"I am too, partner. So, about those legs…"
Before Rinzler would tell the wolf the talk about Marina's boobs and legs wasn't doing him any justice, his stomach grumbled. Patting his stomach, Rinzler thought, "later, weirdo."
Propelling towards the Fishers' Pack, he used all his willpower to think straight. To keep his mind clear as he figured out what was happening inside the pack and why Doctor Bedelia sounded broken. What even stood out most was the fact that he trembled when he heard that voice, it reminded him of when the beasts attacked his pack.
The way Doctor Bedelia had cried out after seeing her dead mate, "my mate, my love, I am sorry I couldn't save you."
**
The drive towards the pack wasn't exhilarating as the previous night when he went to see Marina, with endless calls from his sister, and texts messages from Doctor Bedelia asking him where he was, Rinzler knew if there was an option for wolves to fly, he would grab it immediately.
Nearing the Fishers Pack, he got nervous, he saw people hurriedly walking to the pack. What has he done? One thing was for sure, they were heading there to say their condolences. It was day two and since Doctor Bedelia hadn't called ululating, Alpha Fisher hasn't woken up announcing, "I have risen, I have risen."
He honked his car, and the people dispersed from the road. When he arrived at the Fishers Pack's gate, he wanted nothing but to disappear, then appear in front of Alpha Fisher and wake him up so they would handle the mess they caused together.
The Valley Pack's luna and alpha, her mother's previous pack ran to him as soon as they saw him, "where is Marina?" The luna asked.
Rinzler accepted the hug from her and wondered, "and why would I be with her? didn't she reject me?"
Beta Shark came running, bowed at the alpha and the luna, "allow me to steal Alpha Rinzler for a moment, please."
"No problem, the pack is with you during this time of mourning." The luna said as she let go of Rinzler's arm.
"Hell no." Rinzler cursed mentally. "What is it?" He asked, emotionless.
"Something is wrong with Bedelia." Beta Shark informed him, his eyes nowhere close to Rinzler's face.
Pretending as if he couldn't hear his heart on his lips, literally. Rinzler inclined his head towards the packhouse, Beta Shark understood and led the way. Outside Doctor Bedelia's chamber, High Priestess Mannequin was pacing, Rinzler motioned for her to move aside, he entered and closed the door behind him.
The scene in front of him shook him to his core, Doctor Bedelia was sweating profusely, thrashing on the floor, cursing over and over how much it hurt. Rinzler gathered all of his courage and asked, his voice barely a whisper, "Bedelia, what hurts?"
"I can't feel my brother."
"Isn't that how…"
Doctor Bedelia interjected him, she clutched her head and in a hushed tone, she spoke, "brother, why can't I feel you?"
