The Imperial Court

'So cute,' Dante thought inwardly while staring at Cecilia as she explained her life story in details.

"So basically, my life has been centered on how useless I am," Cecilia said with her fingers interlaced together.

She kept expressing herself with a voice that sounds soulless and devoid of emotions.

Dante understands that she feels useless for being summoned to be a human priestess's guardian. Moreover she wasn't allowed to hate or dislike her priestess. Such a behavior would result to her instant death.

Angels are usually determined to fulfill their purposes in life but what happens when the world she thought she knew, wasn't actually the flower filled world she imagined it to be. She would then tend to feel depressed, hopeless and insignificant.

Though Princess Royal doesn't have the desire to kill her due to her dogged attitude in her incessant refusal of the church requests. Still she doesn't really relate to Cecilia as how a priestess and her guardian should.

She sometimes abandons her or act as though Cecilia doesn't exist.

This was part of the reason why Cecilia curses herself inwardly for being the one who got to be the princess guardian and not another. It could also be that she wishes to be an Ascension Angel.

And so stating how useless she was could be her own way of controlling her feelings and behaviors. Dante could tell her not to worry about it too much and that everything was gonna get better but the truth was that humanity is a plague. Well in Cecilia's case, it's the high ranking church officials.

They are just a bunch of disgusting narcissistic parasites and the world would be a better place without them.

So what if Cecilia is actually a fallen Angel hmm? The least they could do was to make sure she doesn't fall into the dark side.

The only one who could truly ease her worries right now would be Princess Royal. Dante was certain if the princess were to show her affectionate side towards Cecilia, Cecilia won't have such a low self-esteem towards herself anymore and she would be strong enough to endure all hardships that came her way.

That should have been a reasonable excuse to not get involved in Cecilia's matter any longer but the next thing he did surprises both him and the Fallen Angel herself.

"It's okay. You're not alone anymore. And whenever you feel alone, just come to me and I'll welcome you with my arms wide open," Dante said with his hand stroking her jet black hair softly and gently.

For a brief second, Dante felt Cecilia's body trembled a bit before every part of her flesh became assaulted by goosebumps beyond her widest imagination.

Alas it was for a brief moment and she immediately composed herself before turning her fleeting dilated eyes back to its original expressionless gaze.

"Please Dante, I didn't ask you to feel pity for me," Cecilia replied before sweeping Dante's hands off her head.

"Oops! I'm sorry. I didn't mean to offend you," He said while smiling before placing his hands back into his pocket.

Dante wondered if asking her about Angel tears would have to wait for a while.

Although he wasn't currently in a hurry to get Deena pregnant for him but he do acknowledge the fact that seeing such a sight would definitely be pleasing to the eye.

.

'Aww!! Damn!! My phallus is rising in such a time like this. I'm definitely a bigger pervert than I thought I was.' Dante thought inwardly.

But if there's something Dante had noticed about Cecilia, it would be the fact that she was anything but useless. A useless person certainly wouldn't volunteer herself to strive so hard to save her priestess.

For now, Dante would see how things goes. He wasn't gonna start helping someone he had barely even know for a week.

He might be cruel. Yes.

But it may also be because he was yet to fully trust anyone from the Royal palace.

"So what about you?" Cecilia turned towards Dante as she asked.

"Huh?" With her words alerting him from his daze, Dante inadvertently said something dumb.

"It's my turn to ask a question. So who are you really?" She said with a stern face, indicating her seriousness.

"I'm just a 22 year old man who really wants to go back home to his four beautiful girls," Dante replied her with a nonchalant response while shrugging his shoulders.

With the serious look on her face, his only presumption was that she was doubting who he truly says he was.

Well, Dante couldn't just say that he was Count Dracula just because she asked. Moreover just because she might be working for the Emperor, that doesn't mean he shouldn't place her on his list of suspects that cursed the Royal family.

For now, she was going to have to make do with his response until he truly knows who his friend or foe really is.

*Sighs* Noticing he wasn't going to say anything else, Cecilia sighed before resting her back on the bench.

Meanwhile Dante stood up to assist Axel one last time while leaving Cecilia whose hand had instinctively flown towards her head as she rubs it with a huge smile on her face.

it seems someone actually love the patting she had not too long ago.

Several hours later, they finally arrived at the palace courtyard at night. With the Emperor's token that was given to them now shown to one of the two palace gateway keepers.

They were easily granted quick entry.

With everyone already awoken, they headed straight to the Emperor's palace right after they landed the vessel close to the Emperor's quarters.

The Rosswell Imperial court was divided into three. The defense court, the inner court and the outer court. The inner court was divided into several halls and quarters with each serving a particular purpose. (Author note:- More info on this later )

Not to dilly-dally around unnecessarily, Cecilia lead them to where the Emperor's hall was. They were met with several imperial guards standing outside His Majesty's quarters as though they had been there all day long.
