" Sigh...out of all my friends in my unit, I was the only one to be drafted at borders."
" it's sure pretty damn hot in this place, after all, I'm in the desert away from every form of civilization."
" I wonder if I can ask to be drafted somewhere else; somewhere with more greenery and more humid."
A random officer in the radar room is whining about his hard lifestyle. when suddenly a beeping sound resonated throughout the whole room.
As he looked carefully at the screen of the radar, it was found that the radar had detected a source of heat at a distance coming at them. His carefree expression was wiped off his face instead his face was full of worry and fear.
After he saw that, he hurried out of the room and went running to the commander. The commander was talking with me, when that soldier came and interrupted our conversation…
"Commander!... Our reader sensed a plane one and half a mile away from us at 1 o'clock." the officer said formally in a military manner, but I could sense him panicking as he said those words.
"The enemy plane? Are they going to attack us without any prior notice like cowards? " the commander said with a harsh deep voice as he grinds his teeth.
"No sir, I think it's a cargo plane, it's too slow to be a fighter."
"A cargo plane?! What are they thinking?" the commander was surprised to hear that piece of news.
"Alright. You are dismissed. go back to your position." the commander ordered the officer with a tone full of authority.
After the officer was gone and only me and the commander were left alone. he said,
"I have to give a call to the capital; we need more reinforcements."
While he was talking to himself, I took a few steps back, trying to sneak out of this dangerous situation but he suddenly turned his face towards me and held my hands tightly with his huge rough hands saying,
"Sorry doctor, but I have to impose on you more, you have to stay here more to treat injured soldiers during the upcoming battle."
Then the commander called for a nearby soldier and ordered him saying,
"Take the doctor somewhere safe and make sure to provide him with all his needs."
I didn't even have a chance to speak up and oppose staying behind; the soldier coupled his arm with mine forcibly and dragged me into a room locking me in. When I tried to get out of the room, I found that the soldier was standing guarding me, or rather preventing me from escaping.
when the plane was in sight, then suddenly it started circling in the air a few kilometres away from the camp, then suddenly an object was dropped off from the plane.
"A bomb?!" the commander said angrily.
"No sir, it doesn't seem like pomp." an officer beside him looking through binoculars said that.
Then the commander snatched the binoculars from the officer and looked carefully at the object as it was falling on the ground.
"What?!... it seems like some kind of box" the commander was surprised at the sight of that.
The commander was right; it was a box made out of reinforced steel and closed up thoroughly. But at that time they didn't know what was sealed inside that box.
After the box landed on the ground, the commander sent a troop of foot soldiers to check that box.
As soon as the soldiers reached the box, they took steady but reluctant steps, approaching the foreign box slowly. They were holding their guns with their finger on the trigger ready to shoot at any time, they had their guard up.
Suddenly they heard a banging noise coming from the box, as if there was someone or something inside the box trying to break free.
The banging was so loud that the commander could feel the ground shaking beneath him even though he was standing far away from it.
