Mysterious gates appeared all around the world a few decades ago. Beings emerged from the gates and brought disaster upon humanity. Humanity called them Demon Spirits. It wasn’t until the advent of Demon Suits and Demon Suiters that humans stood a fighting chance.
For some perplexing reason, the world’s number one Demon Suiter, Li "God" Xiu abandons his identity to start over again as a newbie trial-taker. He enters the gates to participate in all sorts of trials, in a bid to seek out the reason that enticed his best friend into becoming a trial-taker.
These trials weren't the run-of-the-mill dungeons, ranging from game sports (soccer, basketball, baseball, etc) to athletics. Just as fortune favors the brave, what would Li Xiu obtain on his quest?
“Are you telling me he’s a greenhorn?” the other trial-takers frustratingly ask while watching Li Xiu's feats that prove why he's the number one Demon Suiter.
Literally just a sports novel. Imagine going into a dungeon to play soccer. Unbelievable.
sounds messy and ridiculous. what type of Nov is it supposed to be? sports? game? apocalypse? the description alone shows it's juggling too many genres and inspires more confusion than intrigue.
By the same author as Let Me Game In Peace, which I read to ~1100 chapters before it started to lose coherence IMO. 166 chapters out so far, the sports stuff stops around chapter 60 and never really comes back, the dungeons and demons are just as creative as always which makes it a fun read. Only complaint I have is that the MC's reasoning process is kind of skipped over - a lot of the time he just kind of makes a choice and it turns out to be a good choice, or a lucky one - but that doesn't affect the flow of the novel.
The work is basically small actions and tons of useless praise and comments to praise the protagonist. Basically there's more text from the author praising the protagonist than actually writing with a plot.
Reveal Spoiler
This story kind of reminds me of 'Crime Prison Island,' where criminals are sent to a particular island to fight for their lives and obtain upgrade options (as well as other rewards). However, instead of throwing fists and fancy martial arts skills, criminals in this story become 'Trial Takers' to participate in different sports activities that keep their lives hanging on a thin rope. And our MC? Well, Li Xiu is actually a powerful individual with quite the mysterious background. One day, he loses his best friend to these trials. It seems like life at the top wasn't so interesting to his best friend, so he runs away and joins these exciting trails to get his blood pumping. And what better way to understand someone? Of course that's by putting yourself in their shoes and that's exactly what our MC does: he becomes a trial taker to chase after his best friend. The story seems interesting, but just because I find it interesting doesn't mean that you might enjoy it. So read the free chapters and judge for yourself.
