Bastion and the other Priests had their worries about how he could create a magic circle in his eye. It was dangerous not only for the Blessed child's health but also for them since it seemed it was a trick up his sleeve.
Without another thought, Bastion glanced at the guard captain that was looking at his boss. In an instant, a whip appeared out of nowhere and grabbed/crushed the taser in Cain's hand. Even though it got his hand as well, breaking several bones, he did not scream, only glancing at the guard captain before back at Bastion.
"So the High Council of Lailan is now resulting to violence. No wonder my mother didn't want to keep me here." Cain smirked and looked at his hand as his eye focused on it.
Bastion only frowned harder when he wasn't able to find any fear in the young man's gaze. He only looked back at him with the same contempt look he gave the child. It irked him but he fought against his own emotions to stay composed.
It wasn't so easy for some of the other members though, Taz being the worse as his mana swirled around him dangerously.
"You do realize I'm not dumb enough to bring just a taser to kill myself right? You said I was bluffing, but I'm really not." Cain turned serious as he brought his hands together and started making hand signs.
"SSSSSTOP HIM!!!" Salmix hissed angrily and pointed at him.
Similar to Taz, he could smell something odd wafting through the room now and he didn't want to wait long enough to find out what it was. The guards quickly grabbed Cain's arms, twisting them behind his back and even breaking a few more fingers to prevent him from moving them.
He only grunted slightly as he was tossed around but his smirk never left his face.
"Let's see how many of my plans you can thwart High Council~" Cain said as he opened his mouth.
Bastion paled as he saw another magic circle on the underside of the Blessed Child's tongue, as well as smaller ones on his canines. While he was too far away to see the canine circles, he knew exactly what he put underneath his tongue.
"Back away! Now!" Bastion ordered angrily, surprising everyone in the room except Cain and Taz who was also pale after being able to see the circle.
"Sir... We-""NOW!!!" Bastion yelled louder, completely losing his cool.
The guards quickly let go and backed off but they kept their weapons close. Cain closed his mouth and patted down his clothes before looking back up to the High Council with a smile.
"What's the matter? Weren't you going to turn me into your livestock?" Cain chuckled as a massive weight of mana hit him from above.
4 of the High Council members directed their mana onto the boy, not even caring anymore if they killed him since he was literally a ticking time bomb now. The magic circle on his tongue was a blood-activated bomb essentially, meaning he could easily bite his tongue and kill everyone in this room.
"You are mad," Taz commented, "You really think killing yourself and all of us will really change anything?"
"I do," Cain said as he slowly used his own mana to protect him so he could speak, "When the world finds out, and they will know sooner rather than later, that the High Council drove the 'Child of All' to suicide after they tried to use him for their own agendas, how do you think they will react?
"You think I'm just a child throwing a tantrum, but I'm much more than that. I know that radical Tiger-kin wish to kill off races that have higher birth rates than them out of jealousy. I know that Insectizoids want the freedom to eat whatever they wish, no matter whose or who it is.
"I know the Fey'Shal wish to rule this world and raise people like me as livestock, and I know Lamian radical leaders wish to create breeding grounds out of all species."
Cain named off several radical ideals of the 4 races of the men against him. While he did have stuff on Dwarves, the old geezer didn't seem to be against him right now so he withheld that information.
Those in the loft paled or scowled, not sure how this child came out with such confidential information. It was especially frustrating for Bastion, who was a true member of the Fey'Shal, a radical group of Elves who believed they were the only ones worthy of ruling this world.
They wanted to make other, less 'intelligent' creatures such as humans and beastmen, into livestock and slaves as Cain mentioned. However they were too small of a group to get anything substantial done right now but with the Forest Guardian appearing, it became their mission to take him for their own.
To hold the world hostage basically using this child.
Bastion thought that sending his mother away would make it easier for him to take the child, but he never thought that he would have such wits and determination not only to find out dirt on themselves but to also rig his body to explode should they succeed in capturing him.
Bastion gritted his teeth in anger along with the other 3.
"Why don't we go back to the reason I'm supposed to be here," Cain smirked and changed the subject, "I want to make a clinic in the frontier where it is a neutral zone and a safe space for all races to send their women to be inseminated and give birth.
"Will you agree with my plan, High Council?" Cain used air quotes for High Council, no longer believing that they were true believers in equality and all the bullshit the Council prides itself on.
30 minutes went by as the council members, mostly the 4 spoke to each other about what to do. Using a spell, they sealed off the loft so Cain couldn't hear them but reading lips wasn't that hard either.
They basically were trying to figure out a way not only to remove the dangerous aspects of his body but whether they should just give in as well and give this matter to the Grand Council.
While they desperately wanted to take the credit for keeping the Blessed Child in Carvfall, they knew they couldn't any longer. They either had to lock him up for good or give in to his demands.
They wanted to lock him up, but without knowing just how many magic circles he put in his own body, they couldn't take any chances.
"You've won this time, Cain Alderman, but do not think the Lailan Council will let you run around as you please for long. The Grand Council will surely take away your freedom for good." Bastion glared at him and gave the final verdict.
"Sure," Cain casually responded, "I'd like to see them try after this has been broadcasted throughout Carvfall."
Cain smirked as he tapped his eye again and opened up his eyelids. His pupil then extended out of his eye, like an ulcer but instead in the shape of a camera lens. The council paled, as they realized what he did.
"Kill him now!!" Bastion screamed but it was too late.
Breaking a fingernail, a magic circle appeared under Cain before he disappeared in an instant.
"How the fuck is he able to use magic within these walls?!" Taz yelled as well as he crushed the half wall in front of him.
It should have been impossible for anyone without the robes of a Council member to use magic in the building, especially not in the High Council's chambers. Yet he somehow managed to bypass it. Not only was he extremely smart, but he was also now extremely dangerous.
If he was able to use things like storage rings and teleportation magic when it should have been impossible, who knows just what he could do if he wanted. On top of that, the lens in his eye was the most concerning.
"He fuckin' got us!! HAHAHA!!!" Dargon laughed heartily and slapped his knee.
While they weren't sure if it was a live broadcast or something that would be later posted in the news, they were fucked unless they could find his source soon. Unfortunately for them, it was a live broadcast, connected to just about every single mana-powered screen or projector on Carvfall.
It would only be a few hours at most before the entire city knew of how the Lailan Council acted toward the Blessed Child, and only a few days before that information traveled to other kingdoms. Whether people believed what happened or not, the Lailan Council's reputation was bound to plummet, losing them Council members and much-needed funding from powerful families and kingdoms.
Cain wasn't going to stay and watch the Council kill itself since he directly teleported to the docks set for Nula. With a quick flash of light, he appeared by the side of his wolf girlfriend, scaring the shit out of her.
She brandished her claws without a second thought and swung at him so he had to duck, still getting grazed, however.
"Luna it's me!! Stop!" Cain pleaded as the girl paused and looked him up and down.
She could see that both his hands were broken and narrowed her eyes.
"You really went and stirred up trouble huh?" She snorted and got back to packing her stuff onto the ship.
"Hey, I gave them a choice, they chose the hard way. I liked that way better though since it means I won't have to worry about the Council hounding me for a while. It was a bit of sweet revenge for my mother."
"I should have never engraved those circles into you idiot." Luna sighed as she took out a magical device that looked similar to a phone.
In it, she could already see that the broadcast of Cain's was at the top of the news, meaning he really did broadcast it. As for the circles on his body, Luna was the one who did it.
She was a genius as well, graduating 2 years ahead of her class, but her accomplishments were overshadowed by Cain's. She didn't care, since it meant she had more freedom than him, and it also worked out well for them since Cain was able to convince the wolf girl to use her expertise in the magical arts to enchant his body essentially.
She was a canine beastwoman, whose race generally wasn't so good with magic, however, she was born with an extremely large mana pool. On top of that, she was a natural at magic, just as good as any elf, and was able to use both her and Cain's minds to crack the secrets of body enchanting.
There were stories about such a thing in many race cultures, however, it was not discovered how to accomplish it until a few years ago when a wolfman, who happened to be her father, discovered it accidentally.
It was still being tested whether her father's accidental discovery was true or not, but she used the first-hand knowledge to her advantage to discover it first. However, she did not care to publish her findings. She wanted to keep it to herself, and more importantly, for the "Child of All."
Cain needed some secret weapon to keep his freedom and she would gladly help her friend out if she could.
In the next few minutes, the Skyship took off, headed for Nula while Carvfall was quickly descending into chaos.
