Training

Lucifer could be seen torturing an angel he managed to capture not so long ago. The angel had been struggling under the grip of a powerful demon when they noticed him, which was why Lucifer decided to make his way over. He knew that it didn't matter if he got caught, he still would be punished for trying something like that, but for the meantime he had questions that needed answers with immediate effect. "Look... kid, I'm not here to make you live your worst day okay? I just have a few questions and I need you to answer me. Now from the top, what other weapon could stand a chance against Michael's Lance?" He asked the captive angel who seemed to freeze from terror. "No talk? Okay." Lucifer smiled as he punched his hand into the angel's chest, scratching at his life force. The angel screamed in pain as he tried to wriggle his way out of his grasp. "Please! Please!!! I do not know, I'm only a welcome guide to Heaven, I don't know anything about the business of the higher ranks." The angel begged for mercy, tears streaming down his face as he looked up at the devil. "Fine." Was all Lucifer said before leaving his wounds to slowly healed. "Listen uhh... Balthazar? I believe we can be civil about this you see, The apocalypse is nigh and I want nothing more than to fight my idiot brother so I can rule the world. But I can't do that if there's no weapon to battle with you dig?" Lucifer asked as he tapped Balthazar's shoulder. "Y... Ye... Yes. Yes I do." Balthazar replied as he stuttered from the pain of his wounds. "Good. Now where is it?" Lucifer asked with a smile. "I'm telling you I don't know!" Lucifer sighed as he kept his hands akimbo looking down on the ground. "Alright then, I believe I have no use or you anymore." Lucifer said as he proceeded to leave the torture chamber. "You won't win." Balthazar said stopping Lucifer in his tracks. "Pardon?" Lucifer said as he turned to face him. "You won't win, because Michael will and Raphael will lock you back in your cage where you belong." Balthazar said as he began to laugh. "Lucifer frowned then began to laugh slowly until he began laughing at the top of his voice. Before Balthazar knew what was happening he felt Lucifer's hand punch it's way through his heart as he let out a scream which was followed by a beam of light that shined bright and stopped as quick as it begun leaving behind Balthazar's corpse, he had scorch marks on his eyes as his body lay limp on the chair. Lucofer let out a deep sigh as he cracked his neck and hands. "Guess I'll have to do this the old fashioned way." He said as he sprout his wings and took to the sky.

Derrick trained day in day put for so long that he became the ultimate weapon, even Wrath said so himself as he deemed him 'The Warrior Without Mercy' Derrick had earned the title of his own name. With each day spent fighting with the Lance he learned more and more until he became one with it. Derrick would never admit it, but he was becoming addicted to combat. Every morning he awoke early to take a shower before sparring with his demon allies then breakfast before training until the sun set. "Man, I don't even recognise you anymore Derrick, you most certainly aren't the puny kid we met crying and thinking about ending it all months ago." Greed remarked his improvement. "I agree, he reminds me of Wrath in his early years." Sloth said as Wrath shot him a glare. "I'm still the same Sloth. Don't test it." Wrath said with a smile. As time progressed Derrick learned more than just battling with a staff and hand to hand combat he learnt how to control his demon form and his wings as he learnt to master the art of flight, he looked like an angel from high above.

"Dude, you're incredible!" Envy exclaimed one evening after their training session. "Thanks man." Derrick responded with a smirk. "I mean you're literally flying right now, you must be pretty strong if you're that fast." Envy commented as he watched Sloth and Greed bicker over a trivial matter. "Not really, I still feel rusty with my wings." Derrick said as he turned to look at them as they fluttered freely. "Can you believe those two are the personified versions of some of the deadliest of sins?" Envy said as he chuckled at Sloth and Greed arguing once again. "That would explain Wrath's temper." Derrick laughed along with him. They were interrupted by Wrath. "I think it's time we go home." Wrath said as he looked between the two of them. "Oh shit you're right." Greed said as he gave a nod of agreement as he looked around realising it was late already. "Let's get going then." Derrick said as they gathered their things as Derrick proceededto teleport them all to his apartment, just beyond the village. "Anyone hear anything on Lucifer?" Derrick asked as he walked inside the apartment. "I haven't heard a peep from anyone but maybe that's because I don't have anyone to contact. Not that there's much point though." Wrath replied as he shrugged. "Well we should go check on them." Derrick said as the rest of the boys agreed. "We'd need to attack first and hard to get him off guard." Derrick said as he fixed himself something to drink. "I'll check in with Alastair tomorrow Sloth said as he stretched on the couch. The other demons nodded his head as he poured himself a beer as well. "Okay, see ya guys later I guess." Derrick said as he retired to his room.

The next morning Derrick woke up earlier than usual as usual as he checked the clock. It read 7AM and he had enough time to run a couple miles before heading to training. "Time to wake the beast." Derrick mumbled as he got dressed before leaving for the sitting room to meet the demons, to his surprise no one was there except Lucifer. Something didn't feel right, the room was cold and foggy for some reason. "What is this?! Where are my friends?! Derrick asked as he prepared to charge. "Cool your shit, I'm not here to fight. Let's talk." Lucifer said as he offered him a seat. Derrick sat down slowly observing the fallen angel that stood before him. "So I hear you got the Lance." Lucifer said with a sly grin as he folded his legs. "Yeah, yeah whatever." Derrick scoffed as he shook his head in disbelief of Lucifer's presence.

"How about we make a truce?" Lucifer asked as he leaned forward slightly. "No thanks." Derrick responded firmly, not wanting to give away any information on the Lance to him just in case he was plotting to make it his. "Okay fine. What if we dropped this battle?" Lucifer proposed. "You don't even know what you're asking for. Hell, how do you know I wouldn't even agree if I was tortured to death." Derrick said as he stood up from the seat preparing to leave. "If you succeed, you'll need a new king to maintain Hell and keep the balance. I'll love to see how you pull it out." Lucifer said as he laughed maniacally before Derrick woke up from the dream, rushing out to the sitting room to see the seven demons waiting for him. "Hey bro. You good?" Greed asked when he noticed Derrick was awake. "Yeah, sorry. Just had a bad dream." Derrick answered with a small yawn as he grabbed himself a cup of coffee and began sipping on it. "I know, Lucifer has been keeping busy lately." Greed replied stopping Derrick in his tracks. "Oh yeah? How so?" Derrick asked with a raised eyebrow. "Well for starters he came to me in a dreamlike state, trying to make me see reason to talk you to backing down from the fight." Greed said. "Us too." The remaining six demons chorused. "You can't expect me to do that! Why would I agree to such a foolish notion." Derrick exclaimed in frustration. "Look, I don't know what he told you, but Lucifer knows that this is bigger than us right now, he's making sure it stays that way." Greed said reassuringly. "Whatever he plans, we'll be ready for him." Derrick said as he got ready for another flight session.
