Goblins spread everywhere in the village, and some of them rushed to the farm to attack Loid and Nue.
"Loid! Monsters!"
'Many villagers will die, and Nue will get badly injured. Then, the King's Knight would happen to be around the area, and he would exterminate the monsters.
I just have to make sure nothing happens to me. Suppose everything goes as it did in the game. In that case, the King's Knight will invite me to the 'Academy of the Heavenly Knights and Supreme Soccerors'.
I will meet the main character there and kill him before my bad luck strikes. And then the only thing I need to do is to find Mia, and I will leave the rest of my life happily ever after.
Nue will lose her hand in this monster's attack, but she will be taken to the capital where the Academy is and will get treated. Her life will be out of danger, and she will soon join the Academy with me.
That's right. I just have to wait and watch!'
Even though Loid had decided to wait and watch, he pulled out his wooden sword and stabbed the monster that was going to attack Nue.
'Like hell, I will sit and watch! She is my childhood friend, and the villagers are like my family. If anything happens to them, I swear in the name of Aphrodite Familia, I will exterminate every one of them from this globe!'
Loid already knew what was going to happen, and he had been waiting for that moment for his entire life. Originally, the villagers who lived near the entrance were killed by the monsters. But Loid had sent all the villagers to the Goddess Aphrodite's shrine by making a lame excuse which the villagers blindly believed.
Nue was also supposed to be with them, but she couldn't leave Loid alone.
'I just have to hold off these monsters until the King's Knight arrives!'
At that moment, Loid saw something that left him baffled. The third function of the 'Pick up System' was unlocked. He noticed a 'heart' symbol after the 100% under Nue's name, and even an idiot would know what that was for.
He had made Nue fall in love with him.
"Loid! Are you okay?!" Nue yelled with a concerned look on her face.
"Yeah, I am fine. More importantly, go to the shrine and call for help. I will hold off these monsters until then."
'I knew Nue wouldn't leave me alone since that's how her character was, so I had to make sure I send all the villagers to the farthest place possible— which is the shrine. It will take Nue ten minutes to get there, and by the time she returns with help, the King's Knight will arrive.'
"But you can't handle this alone!"
"That's why I am asking you to get help!"
"Okay! I will be right back! Please don't die!"
"Don't worry. I have an ultimate weapon with me," he said in a solemn voice.
Loid made sure Nue had reached far away before alerting the other monsters towards him to avoid the damage to the village.
Loid's weapon- [Wooden Sword.]
[ATK -0]
"Time to take my ultimate weapon out!"
He moved his hand to his pocket and took out his ultimate weapon.
[Knife from the Kitchen!]
[ATK- 1]
It was a knife without a hilt which he had specifically prepared for that day. He inserted the hilt-less knife on the tip of the wooden sword and made it a lethal weapon.
[Sword with Knife!]
[ATK- 1]
'Now, you might be thinking, what the hell is going on? So while I am chopping these monsters, running around the farm, and jumping here and there to evade their attacks, let's continue the summary.
This world is big, and it's really big. It has a total of 18 big continents, and the one I live in is the second biggest one. There are 21 kingdoms in this Kingdom ruled by the respective kings. The small towns and villages come under the dukes appointed by the King of the said Kingdom.
And then there is the capital kingdom. The biggest Kingdom of this continent, and the main character of this game is… you guessed it, he is a prince of this entire continent.
I am from a village far away that has no ruler. This village is not even on the map; it's that small, so without proper care, it is so far behind the rest of the towns.
There are no swords or weapons in this village. Not a single, unless you include the knives from the kitchen, which is my ultimate weapon for today's deadly battle.
Since there are no weapons, there are no warriors either. But there is one person who managed to get into the Academy. Everyone else in this village is a farmer, and they farm different things. They trade it with each other, and we eat it. That's how everyone spends their lives in this village.
I did the same, but as a side character, my day was filled with nothing but boredom. I used to practice sword skills for two hours every day in my free time, and I have continued that schedule for the last thirteen years.
The same with martial arts. I am self-taught in both of them, but hey, I got to use my previous life knowledge somewhere, right?
However, my talent is below average. It took me five years to make the wooden sword from the remains of an ancient tree. And my ultimate weapon was given to me by my mother.
Since it had no hilt, it was unusable, and she asked me to bury it somewhere. So as an obedient child, I did as she asked and buried it in my pocket.
The nights here were also boring but beautiful. I will miss the starry sky and the cold breeze at night when I depart for the Academy.
I used to spend five hours from 7:30 to 12:30 outside every night, only to enjoy and relax. Unknowingly, that sharpened my senses and observing skills. I can guess the opponent's next move by reading their body movements.
Then one night, it hit me. Wasn't that meditation? I meditated for five hours every night for 13 years. Now that's something I am proud of.'
SLASH! SLASH!
Loid jumped a few times to trick the monster into thinking that he was retreating. And suddenly, Loid dashed forward and chopped the monster into two.
"Come in, King's Knight. Don't keep me waiting. I am the damsel in the distress you need to save."
The monsters came out of the portal without any sign of them adding. While they were the weakest monster to exist, they could easily kill anyone if they were more in numbers.
'Fifteen minutes have already passed. At this rate, the villagers would arrive, and I wouldn't be able to do two things together.'
After killing all the remaining monsters, Loid ran away. But instead of running away, Loid did the unthinkable. He dashed towards the portal to camp for the monsters and kill them as soon as they came out.
The moment the monster came out, Loid chopped their necks. He had made a pile of headless bodies on one side and rolling heads on the other.
'Where the fuck are you, King's Knight!'
After a while, Loid heard the sound of the horse's footsteps, so he pulled the knife from the wooden sword and threw it far away. And broke the wooden sword into two to make it look like a stick instead.
'Now, time to play the side character card.'
Loid made a small cut on his hand using the sharp side of the wooden sword and smeared the blood on his hands and face.
As the horse came into his sight, he cleared his throat and yelled, "Save me!"
The horse picked up speed, and the King's Knight slashed the monsters.
"Hya!" he yelled while killing them.
As soon as the King's Knight stepped his foot on the portal, the portal closed.
'Oh, I see. So that's how it was supposed to be. Even if I had killed hundreds of monsters, they would have still kept coming out until the Knight arrived.'
"Are you okay, Kid?!" the Knight asked.
"Yes."
The Knight looked at the dead monsters everywhere and asked, "Did you kill them?"
"No. I was working on the farm, and that weird thing popped out of nowhere. The monsters came out and chased after me, but they began to attack each other for some reason. Maybe they were deciding who would eat me."
"As long as you are fine. How old are you, kid?"
"Sixteen."
"Oh. And what's your name?"
"Loid. Loid Becket."
"Becket… Becket… where have I heard that name before…" The Knight pondered for a few seconds before snapping his fingers. "I remember! Are you perhaps a relative of Cleo Becket?"
"Indeed. She is my big sister."
"How have I not known this before?! Your sister has an amazing talent, and she is great at teaching," the Knight said while patting Loid's shoulder.
'Yeah, I have a big sister who is fifteen years older than me. And she is an instructor at the Academy.'
"Loid! Are you alright?!" Nue shouted as she came running at him and hugged him.
The other villagers also came with Nue, and all of them were concerned for Loid.
"Yeah. I am fine." Loid pointed his finger at the Knight and said, "This person helped me."
"Thank you for saving my son!" Loid's mother, Chlea, said.
"It was nothing. It's a Knight's duty to be the sword of the Kingdom and protect the citizens. And if such young blood had died here, he wouldn't have seen this amazing world."
The Knight took out a scroll from his bag that was hanging on the horse.
"Here." he handed it to Loid and said, "This is an invitation letter to the 'Academy of the Heavenly Knights and Supreme Soccerors'. I am visiting every village and town of this kingdom to look for young warriors like you.
The King has assigned the Knights, and they are searching in different parts of this continent. I was tasked with this Kingdom, and oh boy, am I glad I decided to take this route.
Who knows what might have happened to you and this village if I hadn't arrived on time? Maybe this was fate that brought me here so I could give you this invitation letter."
Nue was still hugging Loid like glue.
"Can I have one more invitation letter for my friend?" he asked politely.
"How old is she?"
"Over sixteen."
"Then she is also eligible." The Knight handed another scroll to Loid and said, "Here you go."
"Thank you."
"Now, I must leave. There are many other towns and villages I have to stop by. Oh, by the way, the Academy will start in two weeks, but I will suggest you get there a week before."
He got on his horse while saying, "I will meet you there."
'Restriction removed! Now I can roam anywhere I want!' Loid hugged Nue back, but something else was going on in his mind.
'Wait for me, Mia. I am coming for you!'
