I always wondered why mum's presence made people feel so inferior.


"Do you now understand why I didn't want you to come here in your uniform?", I asked here while heading towards the principal's office.


"Mum, your presence is intimidating in that uniform "


"Sorry sweetheart, but there's nothing I can do about it", she said and the rest of the walk was in utmost silence.


We finally got the the door to the principal's office and I knocked gently. He responded for us to come in which we did.


"Hello, Mr Gupta", mum greeted while I just stood there with a straight face. It seemed they knew each other before I even ended up in the school.


"Mrs Hart", he answered by calling her name too and they both smiled." What do I owe this surprise?", he continued to ask when he offered us a seat. 


"Urhm, can I go to class now, I don't want to miss class this morning ", I said not referring to anyone in particular.


"You can, I'd call you when I'm done here", mum replied and I left without wasting time.


I wanted to check up on Jennie for the shock I put her through. I couldn't find her when I got to the car park so I hurriedly rushed to class to see if she was there.


Immediately I entered the class, the girls rushed to me as if we were friends. They began to talk to me like we were in talking terms but I ignored even though I needed explanation to what was going on. I saw Jennie sitting with her head on the table . I walked to her to find out if she was fine.


"Jennie are you alright?", I asked her tapping on her shoulder but she didn't even flinch.


"Jennie , can we talk?", I said still wanting her attention .


"Why didn't you tell me?", her voice came out barely as a whisper but I knew what she was talking about. She raised her head to look at me and I signaled her to come with me so we could talk outside which she did after hesitating for a while.


"Jennie, I'm sorry for not talking to you about it but I didn't know it was such a big deal", I tried to explain things to her.


"How could you allow yourself to be stressed out by this R3 guys while you came from a noble family?", she spoke with teary eyes.


I finally knew why she was upset, not because I hid my mum's occupation from her rather, why I decided to be calm after all those guys did to me, I finally felt relaxed.


"Come here silly you", I pulled her in for a hug and she hugged me back.


"So why is your mum here?", she finally asked when the hug ended. That was the question I was trying to find an answer to.


"She just said she wanted to see Mr Gupta, I don't know why though. But I think they've known each other for some time now"


"Really?", she asked with a shocked face.


"Does that mean she doesn't know about the R3 guys yet?"


"I pray Mr Gupta doesn't tell her anything about them"


"She really has a bad temper which can make her act crazy if she finds out some guys are messing with me"


"But we need to teach them some lessons "


"That reminds me, I thought you were nervous in front of my mum", I said ignoring what she said earlier.


"I admit because her presence is quiet intimidating ", she said giving me a wink.


I was happy she never mentioned she wanted to end our friendship. But I finally understood why those s girls approached me earlier in the class, Mrs Hart's presence. After sorting out things with Jennie, we went back to class before the lecturer walked in.
