Two nights spent on chatting with Jayden gave Amy bliss. The boy was fun and they did all fun stuff. She would play with him in a street to raise money for his sick mother's treatment. She had taken him to her upcoming studio when he was thrilled at the mere sight of equipment's and decor.
They had gotten lot more closer during the days and she found herself waiting for nightfall to see him. He became her escape from the world, by world she meant specifically Stephanie and her annoying presence in the villa.
It was the third time she was going to meet him and as usual she was dressed in black cargo pants, white sneakers and an over-sized hoodie over her head. No car, bike or anything, nothing except her phone in her pocket. She meandered her way to their 'street' and found Jayden as usual seated waiting for her.
He hugged her, a form of greeting they had adopted in the days. "So, the black princess finally got here," Jayden said playfully as he lightly hit her with his elbow.
Amy scoffed. "Yeah, in black and fashionably late…" Jayden howled in laughter making her move swiftly to smack his head from behind and grinning at the hurt look that only flashed in his eyes before he continued laughing in unrestrained manner like a maniac.
Not that he wasn't one.
Stupid boy!
She sat on the ground and took the guitar that was lying on the floor and started playing it. A tune she was working on for her album. It took Jayden a while to notice that she was serious, bringing his crazy laugh to a stop.
The tune she played was soft and delicate, something fragile, emotional, the kind that holds you glued. Makes you want to cry your eyes out without even knowing what was happening. No, not sad, just moving, moving as if the person playing could feel all your emotions, could relate to you, could connect to your soul, that keeps you listening and he badly wanted to hear the song.
"Sing it, please," he whispered too blown by the emotions being conveyed. Amy glanced at him, small smile before she sang.
The sky is blue
Your soul floats in the air
I won't cry, no, I won't
You never let me, yes, it's alright
Comforting silence, deafening noise
Don't worry, I'm holding on
Not exactly that, you get the idea
I'll be fine, somehow, I just know
Some feelings are temporary, time heals
My case is same, rest, love
I will hold on, I will
Amy paused and turned to look at Jayden waiting for his reaction. Apart from the people in her new studio; not even more than two people and her best friend Lucy, she hadn't performed in public yet. He was her first audience and his reaction mattered. When he remained silent too, she decided to ask. "Well?"
Jayden shook his head as if getting from a daze. "Well?" he asked confused.
Amy face-palmed herself. "My song, how was it?"
Jayden smiled. "Oh yea, you're amazing. I think you should do the singing as I work on the guitar. That way we can earn more." He winked.
Amy nodded her head and placed the guitar down trying to fight a smile that was threatening to curve on her lips. "Thanks," she whispered.
A haughty smile made way to Jayden's face making him look like a young toddler who just got candy. "Is that supposed to be a blush?" he inquired as he poked her cheek.
Amy slapped his hand away, thwarting his poor plan to make her blush and made herself comfortable in a sitting position ready to gather enough money for the day. Jayden's face fell as he pouted.
Totally cute.
No, get a grab of yourself Amy.
Stupid boy.
"Jay, we should start if we want to gather enough money for the day." The earlier they did that the earlier they met their target and the quicker she met her beautiful sleep. Sadly, before they even worked on something she had to bare Jayden's annoying childishness and withstand a headache half the night.
Sometimes she was tempted to just use Jeff's black card to pay his mother's bills and get done with the task but no, Jeff would feel giddy and too good about himself knowing she used his money. Besides even if Jayden was childish, she had fun with him and the double band was cute. A thousand times better than the place she lived in.
"So serious!" he whined. Oh, he was talking? She gave him a blank look. Knowing better than to speak because they could talk for hours and get nowhere. "Okay, you aren't going to answer me, nigga," he gave her a cheeky smile knowing she would react.
Her jaw ticked and her teeth ground against each other, damn she was going to decently separate his head from his body. But that would make him win, damn not that she cared so much. Her hands with a mind of its own started playing with the strings of the guitar. "What are we playing?" she asked, pausing a bit to look at Jayden's face.
Jayden grinned as if that was the most amusing thing he had ever heard of. "Your choice my princess," he made the most horrible curtsy she had ever seen.
Rolling her eyes, she shook her head. She would have known that he was going to be annoying, especially after that toothy grin of his. "Pick a song or I'll break all your teeth."
