Chapter 74: Amethyst Palace (1):

It was quite a short walk from the main palace to my Amethyst palace, about 10 minutes. The door of my Palace was already open. It was quite an old-fashioned black gate door with two guards standing next to it.

When they saw us, they immediately did a 90-degree bow when they saw us. "Greetings your Majesty, Your Royal Highness," they chorused. "Camilla, these two are Sir Luis and Sir Henry they're heads of your guard's team. They're also your personal guards. They would usually follow you everywhere. Each of us has our guard team. Your guard team are called the white lions," explained Father. "Sir Luis, Sir Henry. I'll have to trouble you guys from now on," I mumbled as they immediately denied that it was any trouble.

Inside the palace, we met the butler and headmaid. The butler was called Ocean. The headmaid was called Jennifer. "Nice to meet you, Mr Ocean and Ms Jennifer," I greeted as they curtsied towards me. "Your Royal Highness there is no need for the honorifics," exclaimed the stiff head maid.

Pushing two twin girls forward, Ms Jennifer explained that they were going to be my maid from now on. "My name is Annie," greeted the twin on the right. She had her hair braided in a side ponytail on the right. I nodded at her and turned towards the other twin. "My name is Alice. We are identical twins. However, I'm the older twin. We're both 13," explained Alice as she curtsied. I quickly gestured for her to get up.

In the Theodo kingdom, it was etiquette to stay in a curtsying/bowing position until a person of a higher class told you to get up.

"Your Royal Highness, from now on we will both serve you willingly," they chorused together as I nodded.

We then continued to venture inside the palace. The palace's interior designs were like the ones you see on television. Except it looked much grander in real life. The ceiling had chandeliers hanging on every part of the ceiling. I later knew that the chandeliers were also powered by firepower. Some candles were lit on the side of the hallway. The ceiling was decorated with purple and gold patterns. The whole palace was pretty much gold and purple as Amethyst colour was purple and gold represented royalty.

The head maid had explained that the downstairs floor was where the servants lived and where the kitchen and laundry room were.

"The first room on the right is the music room. The one on the left is the movie room..." explained the head maid. I turned my eyes towards the music room. It's been so long since I've seen my favourite instrument, I wonder if they have it inside. Mother must've noticed my lingering expression because she immediately brought me inside the room.

My eyes widened as soon as I opened the door. The room was so big. It was like a miniature hall. There were so many instruments in the room. Standing in the middle of the room was a golden harp.

My conscience wanted to go and play it. The last time I saw a harp was when my parents died in my past life. I threw out the instruments because I couldn't bear to play them after my parents died. That instrument had too many memories with it. Dad was the person who taught me how to play the harp, but now he was gone hence I didn't want to play it.

"Do you want to play it?" asked Mother as I nodded. She encouraged me to go ahead as I sat on the chair and began playing a piece. I played the piece, Winter, by Vivaldi. After I finished playing the piece everyone clapped joyfully. "Camilla, you know how to play the harp?" asked my brother confusingly as I nodded. "There was an old harp in the orphanage, I learnt it when I was bored," I explained. Yet another lie.

"Do you know how to play any other instruments?" Father asked as I nodded. I looked around the room and noticed the cello. It was an older version of the cello but it still worked. I played two songs and both were followed by clapping sounds. The first song I played was A Thousand Years and the second one was A Whole New World.

"You can also play the Cello?" asked Father as I nodded. The cello was the only instrument I wanted to learn. "What else can you play?" asked Brandon in confusion. "Um... a lot actually. I had a lot of free time there so I learnt from the books in the library. But I've never actually played a real cello," I exclaimed as they gasped in shock. I suppose the lie sounds a bit unreal as I played like I've had many years of practice. Hopefully, they won't find out the truth. Maybe I should try acting like the actual Camilla then let my instincts take over me.

We left the room after a while and headed towards my chamber which was on the other side of the palace.
