Chapter 91: Testing my magic (1):

"Your Highness, you need not worry about these things now. When the time comes you will know who that man is," Edgar mumbled. "Before Edgar continues I would like to say that this whole story has to stay between us. You will only know this prophecy if you are the heir to the throne or the heir to the royal magician," threatened Father, "If any rumours were to spread I hardly believe your head will be kept,". This was a threat addressed to Edgar and Adeline. However, we all nodded in agreement.

"Princess please step over here and we start testing your magic powers," asked Edgar as I nodded. I stood up and walked in front of him. I noticed him setting a barrier and I later found out that was placed so that nothing would be ruined.

Edgar held up an apple and said "Princes Camilla, I will throw the apple into the air. Can you imagine an arrow ready to shoot at it?" as I nodded. I tried to imagine an arrow shooting at the apple but nothing seemed to happen. The apple dropped on the floor without a scratch on it. Everyone looked at me motionlessly as I laughed sheepishly.

"No matter, perhaps because of your water power these won't work. How about this can you imagine using water to bring the apple to His Majesty's hand?" encouraged Edgar as I nodded.

I desperately tried to imagine it. At that moment, something on my wrist gave off a light and water bubbles began to gather together from the tea. There was a decent amount of water floating in the air. Can you please place the apple on my father's hand? I thought as the water picked the apple up. Now the apple was floating in the air. This was so cool. I have never seen anything like this happen in real life.

The apple was placed gently onto my father's hand and it floated back to me. I stretched my hand to touch it. I don't know why I did this but my hand went through the water as I thought thank you. It started deforming and turning back into water molecules and then onto the cups holding tea.

"Good job, Princess. We are going to continue with this experiment. Here take this scarf that has been wetted from water. Can you imagine that the water coming from here is forming a sword?" he asked as I nodded.

I turned towards the scarf and thought Can you form a sword? Again the same thing happened. My wrist flashed a light blue colour and molecules from the scarf drifted into mid-air and formed a sword. Cool "Brilliant," Edgar mumbled as I turned towards him. "Focused Princess. The sword is going away," he asked as I focused back on the sword.

"Try and stab this golden apple," Edgar ordered as I nodded and imagined my sword stabbing the apple. It really did stab it. Well, just the front of it. This apple sure is hard. "Don't give up Princess. Imagine if the sword solidified and turned into ice. Then stab the golden apple," he announced as I nodded.

Can you please turn it into ice? I asked and it really did. This time the sword stabbed right through the golden apple. It split into half and then the sword continued to stash on the apple until it was just left in bits. Enough I thought as it stopped. "Great job Princess Camilla," announced Edgar, "Can you turn it back into water?" I nodded and began to try. It turned back into water quicker than it turned into ice.

My head was feeling a bit dizzy right now. I wonder why. "Camilla, are you ok?" voiced Christopher as I nodded. The dizziness left me as soon as Edgar handed me a blue stone. I seemed to be absorbing the power coming out of it. I wonder what this was. "This is a water element mana stone. Absorbing its power will help you regain your power," explained Edgar as I listened in excitement.

I'm not sure if there was a thing like this in the book. This whole business seems quite odd. I mean in the book Camilla never received any powers. And there definitely wasn't anything about the prophecy. That's quite strange.
