Chapter 130: Care for a dance? (1):

Camilla's POV:

I've been watching Eveline ever since she entered the hall with Miss Lily-Anne. From the moment she left the hall, I also asked some of my guards to follow her. I am beyond curious to watch the next scene myself. The balcony accident happened on the last day of the masquerade ball so everything should be fine for the first two days.

"Your Highness," the guards gestured for me to take the paper. In the paper, it just noted that Eveline walked aimlessly out of the hall. She seems to be looking for someone or something. She was also clutching her heart for God knows what reason.

When she entered the room I noticed her scanning for someone and then went straight to the refreshments. Who exactly was she looking for? I soon found out she was looking for the Baroness.

"Princess, who are you looking at?" Miss Lily-Anne asked as I gestured for her to turn around. "Look it's your maid. Whose the woman next to her?" I asked. "That's Baroness Stylevanna, she just lost her daughter to measles," Lexi replied, "She's quite pitiful. But I heard rumours she's taken to drinking as she can't forget her daughter,". So this is the Baroness Stylevanna. She looks quite different from what I imagined.

"Looks like something is going on right there," muttered Ryan as we all turned to look over. It was very interesting, I walked over the crowd as everything was turning into control. "Since everything has been controlled then disperse everyone," I ordered. The music turned back on as people hit the dance floor again.

I momentarily ignored Eveline and turned to look at the people dancing. "My lady care for a dance?" Ryan asked whilst holding out his hand. I smiled and took his hand to the dance floor. As soon as the previous song finished the crowd moved out of the way for me and Ryan to pass by. He led me to the middle of the dance floor and placed one hand on my hip and another hand on my hand.

"You ready?" he asked as I nodded. The music began and we went with the flow of music. "I just realised you're my first partner of the night," I laughed whilst spinning around with the music. "I would be really glad if I was always your first partner at every event," he muttered.

My heart skipped a beat. What does he mean by that? God. Maybe I'm just thinking wrongly. Maybe his words are just something friendly. I shouldn't think much of it. Maybe I'm just overthinking.

As soon as the dance finished Ryan let go of my hand and bowed while I curtsied. He led me off the dance floor and over to where Lexi and Damian were standing. Whilst walking over I heard people whispering things about me and Ryan. "Those two look so cute together", and "The princess has excellent dance skills, the young marques lord isn't too bad either" Words like this entered my ears.

"That was an excellent dance," Lexi muttered whilst weirdly looking at me. Her expression looked like my friend's when she wanted gossip or something along those lines. Like gossip regarding men. Those expressions I've seen quite a few times already and to be honest I missed it. In my world, I had only one close friend, she was the only one who stuck with me through everything. God, I miss her. We used to gossip about all sorts of things.

As soon as we met up with Lexi she moved to me and mumbled "We have a lot to debrief about after this ball,". "Debrief what?" I questioned. "You know what," she looked at me with that sly look. "You sly old fox," I mumbled.

Ryan POV:

I finally got a chance to dance with her. And I meant every word of what I said to her. I wanted to be the first and last person to dance with her. i will make that come true.

When she danced with Damian it irritated me so much. Yet I couldn't even say anything. I think Lexi is now my new best friend. She is so right in saying Camilla and I look better when we dance together.
