Chapter 27: The Lurking Shadow Part 4

Leviathan, with his unreasonable envy and never ending spite to anything that he can't posses, forgot his rationality and all his reason of being in Valentine. Even his lunatic devotion towards his venerable master, Lucifer was not enough to stop him from his unreasonable and outright immature antiques as he challenged the Princess of Vampires and the strongest of the said race in a one on one battle instead of escaping just because he saw how Eris fights and considered it beautiful without being envious.

"There's no way I'm Being captivated!"

Leviathan's words is hoarse and full of contempt, after all, he is not so fond of appreciating other people's prowess, instead he is good at being envious and wanting to have or destroy something that someone have.

"Yeah right, I mean, I love women anyway, so you being captivated won't bloom to anything you know?"

Eris, without any care about Leviathan's feelings and emotions mocked in response, causing Leviathan's unreasonable anger to reach its peak, he raised his claw in front of Eris, in which Eris just made a smirk as she looked at the gigantic blades in the right hand of Leviathan that is a materialized part of his serpent form.

Of course, the claw's size was modified so that the human form of Leviathan will not find it hard to move the transformed hand around.

Leviathan looked at Eris' confident grin that seem to say that despite his display of power and despite his power, he is still not enough to match her with concern that once again turned into anger, he wiped out the lingering doubt about himself and slashed into Eris using his claws causing the trees in a wide vicinity to be cleaved in half, all greens in the way of his attack was wiped out as his blades reached Eris that didn't even bothered to dodge causing her to be hit and hacked by the claws of Leviathan ending the life of the strongest Vampire on earth...

"Like I said, it will not bloom to anything."

Or so Leviathan thought, as he saw his claws that can cut rocks in half and even destroy whole forest and mountains touch Eris' body causing a massive shockwave of air that once again cut down the trees that surrounds the two fighters making a man made clearing in the outskirts of the City of Vampires, however despite the power of the attack, despite how the attack can destroy a forest, Eris didn't even budged from the attack as she received it with her body.

"N-not even blood!? How can that be!?"

Leviathan exclaimed as he immediately pulled and retreated a few meters away from the menace in front of him to gather his thoughts, he was so sure that he hit Eris, and it was a direct hit too, however Eris just ignored his attack, it's not resist, it's ignore. She ignored it as if it didn't even existed, not even a single drop of blood can be seen dripping from her hand or even a single tear in her black dress was perceived. It was as if, the attack didn't even existed in the first place, it was as if... Leviathan's power is non-existent.

"Eh? You're asking me? Well, let's see, let's just say that my magic is all about defense... Unparalleled and absolute defense."

Eris made an evil smile, a smile that mostly resembles the grin of her brother as she looked at Leviathan's face that is turning from angry to a despaired one. After all, Leviathan have confidence in his strenght and Eris just blocked one of his attack without even bothering on blocking it in the first place.

"E-even then! You should atleast have taken some slight damage! There must be some kind of weakness! That's right! You must be bluffing!"

Leviathan once again made a fit of anger as he brushed away his despair and once again attacked Eris with his gigantic claws, this time he attacked from above hoping that he will extract some kind of weakness in the top of the head of Eris.

"No, Like I said, my defense is absolute... And about weakness... Of course I have one... And I am so disappointed that you didn't realized it the moment I didn't dodged your attack."

However, Leviathan's efforts is in naught as Eris once again completely ignored the attack of Leviathan and just let it hit her head alongside her two shoulders as Leviathan once again witnessed his attack being completely incapable of damaging the Ruler of Vampires.

Leviathan's facial expression once again contorted as he finally snapped out of his tantrum and realized the graveness of his situation... He just challenged someone completely out of his league and now he doesn't have any idea how he will go away from his predicament.

First of all, he cannot understand how Eris' bloodline magic works, even though Eris explained it to him in a very simple manner, of course he knew that her bloodline magic giving her some kind of absolute defense is too simple to be a bloodline magic, however he cannot understand anything beyond that point, after all, who would understand someone if that someone just basically said "I can't get hurt because of my magic" and who would believe something as ridiculous as invulnerability like that.

However, Leviathan also witnessed it with his naked eye, how Eris ignored all of his attacks that he have confidence in and how Eris is still standing in front of him despite receiving two full blown attacks from him, so half of his mind is in the verge of believing it, that Eris is invulnerable and only the confirmation of Eris herself about her weakness keeps Leviathan from completely slipping out of his sanity.

However, because he already went back to his former self, his self that can think rationally and is not making his ego get the lead of his decision making, he also knew it, or perhaps he knew it from the start, that the moment that he challenged Eris is the moment that all the prospect of him escaping went down the drain and the only way for him to get out of this situation right now is to fight.

Again, Leviathan comforted himself, he is not weak, it's just that Eris is too strong with nonsensical prowess that lead him, a person of great intelligence (most of the time) go and engage in a fight that the best case scenario is escaping and any prospect of winning is not present.

However, in order to survive, in order to see another day and in order for him to continue serving his master Lucifer, he have to fight, that's why, Leviathan forced a smile as he started to think of a way to fight back against someone that can ignore an attack that wipes off a whole clearing out of a forest.

"Tsk! If one set of claws is not enough, then I just have to use many!"

Leviathan, gritting his teeth said as he once again started to transform in front of Eris that she of course ignored as she is confident that no one, or maybe no one except her brother, mother and Guinevere can penetrate her defenses, after all, her "Crimson Magic" bloodline magic is the Absolute Defense, or atleast the one closest to absolute.

"What kind of childish antiques is this... Oh! Interesting! HAHAHA! Let's see what adding some parts in your body can do to me!"

Eris started to laugh as she also went into a mad frenzy of her battle maniac side, instead of culling an impending parasite that is her original goal, she started to feel like she is just babysitting an arrogant brat that was slapped by reality in credits of herself. Of course Eris is not like Leviathan that can be fully blinded by his weird quirks and can regress himself from a stoic dragon into a little brat, Eris still will not let Leviathan go just because he was interesting and can use despair as an anchor to realign his logic.

She was just... Bored, after all the person nearest to her that can challenge her is an ally and of course the queen suddenly challenging someone will tarnish the good reputation of the Royal Sibling, and no matter how much she love ladies, she still wants to have some action outside of bed and right now, an intruder in the name of Leviathan of Envy made this longing of Eris be fulfilled, that's why she wants to see how this cornered serpent can get through this situation.

Leviathan knew of this and considered this a variable that gives him a little bit of advantage in this disadvantageous position as he started to transform himself, his body gained scales as his another arm gained large claws, like the other one have scales that can withstand almost anything though will probably come behind if it is to compare to the defense mechanism of Eris that even protects her dress somehow, his back then started to sprout silver colored tail and as a common point, scales silver in color can also be seen as Leviathan is a silver serpent when in his dragon form that glistens in the sky, however right now he is in his human form and going in his dragon form will probably make him a big target of Eris and who knows how long that big ass lance that Eris made out of his parasol can truly reach.

Thinking about this, Leviathan immediately started his attacks... Or his pointless struggles as he used both of his hands and planted himself firmly into the ground and made a back flip as he used his silver shining tail and attacked the frontal part of Eris head, and as expected Eris ignored the attack that made small craters behind her.

"Tsk!"

Leviathan clicked his tongue, of course it will be ignored! Leviathan ignored the fact that his attacks seem to not work at all and then firmly planted himself to the ground once again now using his feet, he then used his left claw to attack Eris in her left side in which Eris simply used his arms to block with ease, Eris then made a move, she raised her crimson colored lance and made a stab, yes, a stab, another one, however the stab was different as it formed circular shockwaves similar to that of a tornado as it attacked Leviathan with all of it's destructiveness.

However, of course Leviathan is not someone to scoff with and dodged the attack in time by using his two hands that is filled with scales, he successfully averted the damage.

"Hehe, how nice..."

Eris then started to go on the offensive in which Leviathan started to feel frightful about considering how Eris' lance just produced a mini tornado.

"Here comes!"

Eris warned and she then once again disappeared right in front of Leviathan and appeared in his back, startling him as he saw the tip of her lance about to pierce his back.

"Wha-"

Leviathan doesn't even have time to react verbally, he immediately went out of the direction of the lance, however he is not so lucky this time as the side of his right ribcage was caught by the lance as ominous cracking of bones and flesh was heard as some blood started to pour out from the hole the attack created.

"Guha!"

Leviathan coughed some blood as Eris didn't even stopped her assault, she may found Leviathan interesting, but her job right now is to protect her people and not to play around, holes after holes was made into Leviathan's body, every single one was pointed out of a vital spot as Leviathan started to cough fresh blood without sign of stopping.

At first, he thought that fighting will give him a chance, but he was wrong, his scales can't even withstand one of Eris stabs and his whole body is about to be erased out of existence by hundreds of stabs every second and if not for his constitution as a dragon, then he would be dead right now.

_So this is how will it end..._

_I didn't even fulfilled Lucifer-sama's orders..._

_I'm sorry, My Lord..._

Leviathan closed his eyes and accepted his fate, after all, it was already a fulfilling journey as he devoted himself in serving his master, thinking about those things, the sin of envy finally passed away from this world...

"Forgive me Eris, but I can't have you kill Leviathan yet."

Or so he thought, as Eris is about to deal the final blow, a figure in complete darkness suddenly appeared having pitch black wings, the figure punched Eris in the face causing Eris to fly few meters away cleaving trees and branches in half, however, the figure knew that the attack did nothing fatal or severe to Eris and just focused on escaping as the figure flapped his wings and flew at speeds that only Eris can perceive.

Eris, upon stopping to stumble around started to remove the dusts to herself and as expected a punch in the face didn't even leave a single mark on her unblemished skin.

However, Eris face is not beautiful at all as her blue eye of her Heterochromatic eye turned red and the trees started to bow down in front of her as the pressure of the strongest Vampire washed over the forest and made the whole forest kneel before her wake.

"Lucifer...!"

Eris calmed down after saying those words, after all, the haughty queen of Valentine have to be calm at all times as she just started to fly away from the forest.

"Well, Loki's best friend (LOL) went to our territory so might as well give Loki a little bit of warning..."

With those words, Eris made a last look at the devastated forest as she flew away back to her palace and reconsider her plans.

For a storm that will sweep up the Seven Rulers is about to start.

Meanwhile, Lucifer looked at his subordinate's state as he flew away from Valentine. Who would have thought that Leviathan will meet such a strong opposition without even his plans starting, Lucifer can only sigh as he mutter.

"Well, not like my plans are centered on Valentine..."
