Caught red handed

Taking a shower, she relived everything that happened throughout the day and broke down. The running shower hid her sob but Martin who was standing at the door could hear her. He held his heart as the it pained to see her like that.

For the last five years, he had seen how much she had put effort into their relationship. At first he thought it was normal for the wife to support her husband. Even when she resigned to help him with his career and at home, he didn't see it as a big deal. Now thinking back, he was always a jerk to her. He sighed walking away from there.

Evelyn stayed in the bathroom for a long time before she got out. Her skin had turned pale. She walked with her towel to the closet before changing into a beautiful gown. Tonight she was going out. She wanted to spend the night out with whoever she find.

She took her phone and called her longtime friend and colleague. It's appropriate to say she stopped seeing her close friends influenced by her husband. Come to think of it, it seen he was worried about what the others would say about him

She had kept contact with Mercy for all those years. Though she was lonely, she could talk to her sometimes. The only thing she refrain from discussing was her marriage life.

She booked a presidential suite in the most famous hotel in the city for privacy. It was one of the best when it came to their guest privacy. That's why most of the government officials like it.

She looked around the house but Martin was nowhere to be seen. Looking at the empty house, Eve scoffed and walked out. Tonight, she was not driving on her own. She was just a first lady of the county as well as the daughter of the former president. She didn't hide her identity and beauty. She wanted to be the woman she had been years back. Not hiding behind her pain or her husband.

" Go to El Luna hotel" she had just sat down on the back seat when her phone beeped. A message. She didn't need special power to know who had texted her. It was the same number of the mistress that has been sending her messages.

"… If you really want to know what kind of a man your husband is, come to El Luna hotel. Presidential suite number 504.." she looked at the message and smiled sarcastically, " you have put so much effort in exposing Martin, what are you up to really?" she wondered as she threw her phone in her dark red limited edition handbag. It was rare for her to carry her handbag with her. She finds it cumbersome sometimes.

" Wait a minute. Is this a coincidence or the universe is playing a trick on me. Room 504! My booked room is 503." She smiled looking outside the window. Her bodyguards trailing behind them, she didn't have to worry about her safety for the rest of the night. She could let herself be drunk though she never really liked taking alcohol. It was just a thought that came to her

Its not that the message had not hurt her, but she was thinking way ahead. What was the mistress thinking? What is she planning by exposing her husband? What's her end goal?

Those occupied her mind before she knew it, they ha arrived at the hotel. Mercy was already there waiting for her at the lounge

Evelyn gave a gentle smile to the woman walking towards her and hugged her, "Hello darling. Hope you have not wait for long' she gracefully hugged her tighter. The comfort and consolation was what she needed the most at the moment

" Not at all dear. Have only arrived few minutes ago. It has been months since I last saw you. Though we talk frequently, its not compared to seeing you and hugging you. I have missed you" Mercy reciprocated the hug tightly as if she knew she needed the hug the most.

" Should we go to the suite or relax here at the lounge before going up?" Mercy asked releasing her friend. They had a lot planned for the night. They wanted to watch movies, eat, dance and do all sort of crazy thing they hadn't done since high school. They were grown and respected women in the society but that did not mean they didn't have a life of their own.

They had the right to live the way they want not just the way other people expect them to live

"Well..." looking at her watch, Evelyn seemed to be contemplating something. She was curious to know why Martin was meeting the woman as well as see the woman. At the same time she wanted to let everything go and relax.

"Is there something troubling you?" It didn't take a genius to notice something was wrong. Mercy looked at her friend and knew something was up. She was acting weird and seemed to be in dilemma.

Having no choice, Evelyn sat down at the sofa and narrated her ordeal to her friend.

Mercy was furious at the end of it all

"Let's go get them" she didn't wait for Eve to respond as she ran towards the elevator.

"No. Wait" Eve ran after her and held her elbow. One would think it was Mercy who was wronged, "You know me very well. I won't let an injustice happen to me. You know I don't let anything slide when I decide to act on it." She paused for a moment looking around. There were few people at the lounge area no one had their conversation

"I will deal with them in my own way. Let's just sit here at the lounge and watch the drama first" Eve suggested surprising her friend. She had forgotten how terrifying Evelyn could be. She looked at her and smiled gently at her, "to cross you is like knocking on the hells gate. I really pity them." She smiled just imagining all sorts of things Eve could do to her cheater husband and the mistress. "I am glad I am not your enemy" she felt chilled down her spine just thinking of what might happen.

She had witnessed several attacks Eve threw at her enemies before. She was a tolerant person and patient but when she can't take it any longer, she won't hold back and retaliate with no mercy
