"What the Fuck! What was that!?" Yelled the soldier in red as he jump between trees.
"I don't know!"
"I'm just glad we survived."
"Survived? You call this surviving? We're running from a monster to other monsters!" Yelled a soldier as he punch a tree, his fist melted the tree completely burning the bark.
"Can you stop? We don't want to catch any unwanted attention."
"I…I… I don't care." Said a soldier as he stop in his tracks. The soldier fell to his knees as he broke out in tears. His face became ugly as he began to scream into the ground. "I WANT TO SEE MY FAMILY! I…I WANT TO HOLD MY SON!" Yelled the soldier as he bashed his head against the ground.
"What are you doing?! We need to keep going!" Yelled a soldier holding a whip. He tried to force the soldier off the ground but he didn't move, anything he tried the soldier just resist him.
"Just leave him." Said the soldiers in red as he dashed deep into the forest, the other soldier followed him without a second thought.
"LOOK AT THEM! RUNNING FOR NOTHING!" Said the soldier as he dug his claws into his arm. His arm began to bleed, leaking into the dirt on his shirt.
"For nothing? They're running for hope!" Yelled the soldier with the whip.
"Hope? What's your code name?" Asked the soldier.
"Wolf." Said the soldier with the whip.
"Well wolf, you can call me meat." Said the soldier as he wiped his face off.
"Meat? Why did you pick meat?" Asked Wolf.
"Cause that's what we are." Said Meat as laid on his back, he had a clear view of the sky, with no cloud in sight. They weren't running for their lives you would call this a peaceful night.
"What are you talking about? We still have a chance to live, you can go home."
"Home? Chance? I get it, you're a young one. You never experience a chase."
"What does a chase have to do with this?"
Let out sigh Meat began to explain "When a beast chases you they wait, They stay still and lurk in the dark."
Purple eyes hover over a group of soldiers as they ran away from the soldier in red.
"Fuck, that bastard is leading us to our death."
"I know, fucking sheep following that idiot because of his strength."
"So what's the plan, are we just going back to our death?"
"No, we are going a little deep and then taking a hard left to the main road, if we make it in time we should be able to catch a ride."
"The Beast starts hurting one by one, taking out the weakest one first." Said Meat
"Rock, why are you quiet." Said one soldier as he glance behind him. "Hey Rock is not following us."
"What do you mean? He has been following us since we spilt off from the group. I just saw him not too long ago.." the other soldier fell silent as he gaze behind him.
Thunder echoed above them as sweat fell from their faces.
"No, NO, No! You think he just went the wrong way?"
"Please keep quiet." Said the other soldier as he rubbed his hand on the ground.
"The first instinct of a beast is to strike fear into his prey." Said Meat.
A huge bright purple bolt of lightning struck down in front of the pair knocking them back away, the two soldiers struggled to lift their heads as they force themselves up.
"What happen…" the soldier fell silent as he stared into the distance.
"A bolt of lightning struck near us, idiot." Said the other soldier as he wiped the dirt off his face.
"Be quiet." The soldier faced pale as he pointed out into the distance.
"Be quiet?! I Dare…" the other soldier stop in his tracks as an overwhelming presence washed over him. As the soldier turned his head a tree fell, and both of the soldier's faces pale as they stared at a purple beast eyeing them down. The beast's eye glowed purple as it used the shadows to hide his body. Once glance just once glance, struck fear in the hearts of these soldiers. These same soldiers were built to do the dirty work no other could do, they were made to kill and ask questions later. These same soldiers were now shivering at the sight of this beast.
Growling at the soldiers Luther slowly creeps back into the shadows leaving the soldiers to shake in fear.
"It takes one sign of weakness, just one and your death warrant will be signed." Said Meat
"What happened if you do?" Asked Wolf
"Death." Coldly stated Meat
"Can we fight back?" Wolf asked
"There are two options and both don't guarantee survival. You can sacrifice the ones close to you or work together for a better future."
Lightning struck near the spot the beast was last seen revealing nothing but an empty field and destroyed trees. Both soldiers rose out of their respective spots and stared at each other in fear.
"Wolf, do you know what option humans always pick?"
"No."
" Sacrifice." Said Meat as he spat on the ground. "We will use the others as bait if it means we can live to see another day, as the monster devours our comrades, we will be running to safety."
The two soldiers stared each other down daring one another to move. A spike of dirt launched at one of the soldiers causing him to jump back. Light flashed as the spike of dirt fell apart.
"Just stop it." Said one of the soldiers as he began to spin around rapidly.
"I rather die." Said the other soldier as he sank into the ground.
The wind gathers around the spinning soldier lifting him. Ten spikes flew at him but the force of the wind was strong enough to redirect him to the ground. The ground began to spilt apart as a huge dirt hand reached out the ground. The hand swatted the other soldier out of the sky. The soldier reach his hand out of the ground to catch the other fall but a feeling of desperation washed over him.
"I was liking the show but I don't have a lot of time." Said Luther as he landed on the soldier on the ground.
"Sir, but that beast is not normal it's…"
" Like a monster." Said Meat cutting Wolf off, "That's what's scared me the most."
