Chapter 4

A/N: Sorry this isn't a chapter update per say, but I know how important this fic is to everyone else so I thought it'd be better to start the chapter off slow so I wouldn't ruin things with spoilers.

(A few weeks later)

Lila sat in class, quietly humming to herself. She had already spent most of her classes in class so she knew her professors weren't paying attention to her at all.

The bell rang signaling the end of school. Lila grabbed her bag and headed out of the classroom. As soon as she exited the building she saw Victor heading straight toward her.

She smiled widely and quickly ran over to him. As soon as he reached her, she grabbed onto his hand and laced her fingers with his.

The brunet laughed slightly and squeezed her hand gently, "Sorry I'm late Lydia. I was helping coach with something with the hockey team. But I'm all yours!" He winked at her flirtatiously before kissing her temple.

Lila blushed lightly and gave his hand a squeeze as they walked towards his truck. After getting in, she snuggled into the passenger side seat.

Victor drove for a while before turning down a road. A few minutes later they pulled into a driveway. The drive had taken longer than usual due to the traffic. When the car finally came to a halt, Victor stopped smiling. He suddenly felt nervous, not knowing exactly where they were. He looked at Lydia nervously, who was sitting beside him.

"Um... Are we going somewhere specific or...?"

"Uh.. Yeah! I uh, I have a surprise for you... Here I'll grab our stuff from the trunk."

She jumped out of the car and rushed toward the trunk. Victor slowly got out of the car and started searching for his backpack in the grass. As he looked around the empty yard he heard footsteps running across the ground toward the driveway. When the person got close enough to Victor he recognized his sister.

"Mia? Why are you here? What's wrong?" He asked concerned, running over to the girl to hug her tightly.

The girl hugged back, "I need to talk to you, and mom too. I don't want to tell you guys at the same time since there is so much to say, but I'm afraid you won't let me leave till you hear it." She explained.

Her older sister nodded and motioned for her to lead the way. She led them up a set of stairs and opened a door on the third floor landing. They both stepped into her room which was messy and cluttered unlike the rest of the house.

"What is it Mia? Is it about mom?" Victor asked concerned as he followed her to sit down on her bed.

Mia sat next to him in silence for a few moments before sighing deeply. She took her sister's hands in her own and held them tightly, her face serious, "You guys remember when mom got sick and went away for a couple days last year?" She nodded, "Well she got back earlier this week and well... She had another miscarriage."

Both of the girls started crying tears of sadness and shock. After taking a shaky breath they stared at each other, not knowing what to say. It was a long time ago so why was Mia bringing it up? Was it because Victor wasn't able to take care of her during the miscarriage and was also busy dealing with his own grief? Maybe she wanted to make sure Victor was okay because she didn't have any kids?

Mia looked at her sister with sympathy and added, "She's fine now of course. She is sleeping right now and she hasn't woken up yet."

Lydia was shocked, "Oh, no... I'm sorry Mia… How far along did she get with the pregnancy?"

"Five and a half months I think," Mia replied softly.

"Wow…. And you haven't told us before? We would have helped take care of her."

"Well, I guess it just never happened like I wanted it to Victor. And then after mom left she got so angry. At first she told me it was because I wasn't spending enough time taking care of you… but then she started saying how I wasn't being responsible and she wanted me to go and live with her again. She said that even though you've changed she knows the kind of person you are. But I don't believe her, you're probably still the same selfish boy I met years ago. So I decided I didn't want that anymore. That's why I moved back to England."

Lydia frowned, "Why didn't you tell us this sooner. You might not have lost your mother, but that doesn't mean we lost her. If you ever have any problems at home just call one of us okay. We're here for you!"

She hugged her little sister, who accepted the gesture gratefully.
