Crash And Burn

A cold rain drizzles over Lotusville. Crash sits in his room while studying for a math test. He twists his lip and sighs. 'It's harder to focus,' Crash concludes. 'There's so much going on…School doesn't seem as important.'


The disheartened teen finishes his work. With a sigh, he grabs his phone to scan for music. Crash often turns to music for comfort. He plays the song, "Fireflies," from Owl City. The melody is soothing and nostalgic. As Crash lays in bed, the music begins to lull him to sleep. An interruption in the melody demands Crash's attention.


'Hey!' A single text from Alex rings in. 'I saw that creep again…on Market Place!'


'Where?' he frantically replies in text. 'Did you tell anyone?'


'By the crossroads,' the other responds. 'I was about to call them out, but they DISAPPEARED!'
