Chapter 21: Caught Off Guard

Binaural beats play in a dark room. A backpack slouches on the floor as though thrown without a care. Crash slumps down and rests his back against the bed. His teary eyes are closed shut. After therapy, the teen finds himself in a regressive state. Crash's mind circles around a grave sense of doubt. 'Why am I…here?'

Crash picks up his phone. While scrolling through a list of songs, he selects Blutengel's "Cry Little Sister." In an attempt to alleviate the pain, the teen prefers to find songs that are calm. After all, if there are positive notes resounding in his ears, then Crash may be able to place himself in a better frame of mind. The downside to that idea is—one cannot 'force' happiness.
