Chapter 24: Pit Stop

Crash's hopes are restored by the familiar road. The broken wheels of his bike, makes moving even more difficult. His body feels as though it could collapse at any moment. Despite the need to rest, the teen continues in earnest. 'I have to make it,' he huffs. 'Keep, moving.' Crash grits his teeth.

The thunder rolls above with a loud roar. Icy rain hits the pavement harder than before. The teen and all of his belongings are soaked. Even though the puffer coat should be water resistant, the constant rain bleeds through. Crash shivers as the cold gets to him. He wishes to end this leg of his journey.

To his delight, Karma's house appears in view. A surge of adrenaline pumps through Crash's veins. He walks with a quickened pace. He tosses his useless bike down in front of the gate. While lifting the latch, Crash enters the driveway. 'Good…they're home,' Crash thinks with joy. He shuffles up the steps. With a trembling hand, Crash bangs on the door.
