Crash And Burn

Time passes along during winter break. Shocking news of various random acts of violence sprinkles through Lotusville with alarm. There's a rise in theft and physical altercations. The townsfolk behave as though inflicted with a sudden aggressive streak. Crash and his friends are advised to stay inside unless under adult supervision. However, even the risks are still high. 


"I saw their energy." Crash says while fidgeting on his friend's couch. "There were these…black clouds over everyone's head!"


"That's insane!" Alex exclaims. "Man, I wonder what it takes to stop this madness."


Crash takes a bite of his sandwich. After a long sigh, he wishes the same. 


"I couldn't even…buy Mama a present." Sad blue eyes stare across the room. "And Christmas is in a couple of days…"


An ear overhears the dilemma. Aunt Carolyn walks over and takes a seat next to Crash. She has a cup of tea in her hand. She takes a sip and turns over to the teen with a smile.
