Chapter 32: Where There's a Will

Weeks pass without yielding any results. The number of missing children has declined—from four or five in a month to a couple of victims. The Lotusville Police Taskforce believes that the criminals are growing bored. Crash sits at home while watching the most recent press conference with the lead investigator on the taskforce.

A young woman with an intense gaze rises among the reporters. She walks up to the investigator's podium with her microphone pointed in his direction.

"What else can we discern from their behavior?" She asks with a fierce expression.

"Well, serial criminals may reach a point in which they strike less," the burly official replies. "For a number of reasons, we can deduce that the perpetrators are growing fearful of being caught. This is why we believe that they are attacking fewer children."
