Chapter 66: One bed.

His head pounded, and he was freezing and knew he was still drugged. As Gareth sat on the bed next to the stove, he cursed himself for saying anything. He needed Rusty, and he stared at his hands where the man had coated them in antibacterial cream. All he wanted to do now was sleep and not have a conversation about their childhood. Besides the fact that he didn’t want to talk, he knew this wasn’t the time for rehashing his past anyway.

Gareth sighed. Ultimately, he couldn’t figure out why he still cared that Rusty had picked on him. Rusty and his prick-like actions was years ago. Why wasn’t he over it?

Rusty came out of the bathroom. Gareth expected questions, but the man went to the cabinets and pulled out two bottles of water and a small plastic bag.

“Here.” Rusty handed him water and a granola bar.

Gareth drank and ate as Rusty did the same thing. When Rusty was done, he put on boxers and a knit shirt.
