For hours they walked and talked and held hands. Gareth felt like a teenager again… only this was much better in a lot of ways. For the first time, he could indulge his attraction to Rusty. Any time he wanted, Gareth could pull the man to him and kiss him. Rusty always went to him willingly. It was heaven.


The sun was lower in the sky when Rusty led them off the trail. They trudged up to a steep hill, and in the distance, Gareth spotted a set of buildings in the fading light of the day. A cold wind sliced through him, and he pulled his sweater closer to his body as if the action would help.


As the sky slowly got darker, Gareth found it harder to navigate the sticks, leaves, and rocks as they climbed. He stayed close to Rusty, and once they reached the top, they headed toward a more prominent building at the center of a set of little cabins.
