As an Adventurer (2)

Some say traveling is very hard, and others say it is effortless. You can't decide these two things yourself; you have to do it so you can know if it's very hard or effortless.

Before I became a professional player, many people laughed at me because I had a bad shot and aim. But look at me now; they don't laugh at me anymore because I've shown I can be a pro with lousy aim. Those who laughed at me are now my fans.

Therefore, right now, whatever I'm going to do on this trip, I can't decide whether it will be very hard or effortless. I haven't run that. I registered as an adventurer, so I haven't started anything yet. My future provisions are covering my ears, not listening to what other people say, and making the best choices for my life. Anyway, this is my first time playing a VRMMORPG game.

I registered myself as an adventurer in the Adventurer's Guild. There were three choices to define my character's role, but I chose to be an adventurer. Also, two choices of that character's role, being a merchant and being an alchemist/blacksmith, weren't excellent for me. Thus I chose to be an adventurer.

I've filled out the registration form at the Adventurers' Guild, filled in my name, Anton Pasaribu, and a few others—and currently, I'm being summoned by an NPC to get a certificate as an adventurer.

She told me to look in the mirror in front of me now, and I saw a handsome man staring at me. The man looking at me, who has slightly messy black hair, and a slightly lazy face but he's excited, has a scar near his right eye, and the most remarkable thing here is me.

All the data I gave to this game when I created an account on this game site has been synced to my character, so my character is 100% like me. Also, since it uses a notch number, I can't rename my character to the nickname I usually use: Blackwood. The character I use is me, 100% me with my real name. If someone knows this character, then it knows me in real life.

"We have identified your entire body. Please use this as your identity."

She gave me an ID that looked like a voucher. Paper as identification is not made of paper but iron. There was my name, my job as an Assassin and adventurer, and my branch as an Iron-class adventurer.

"If you have a good reputation and routinely carry out quests, your class can go up. Always be kind to people. You will get good results later. Also, they will always ask you for help, so you have to pay attention to your every move. Don't let them be disappointed or angry. They won't give you quests. They can give you quests."

She was saying nonsense I could accidentally hear.

Quests can be obtained in various ways. As she said, an NPC could also give a quest. It can give you a quest if you don't get upset. But if you let an NPC down and your relationship with him is terrible, he won't ask you—he'll ask other adventurers instead of you. An NPC is very influential in this world for you to get quests; their rewards mean a lot to you.

That's what I got from that bullshit. One way to get such a quest was directly from one NPC. Most importantly, as an adventurer, you still have a way to obtain a quest than from Adventurer's Guild. As an adventurer, quests are vital to you because you've already started your journey.

"Remember one thing, and the very thing you are not allowed to go to if you do not have our permission, you are not to enter the Modern world. We forbid you to go there. Because if you stay there without our permission and are killed there, you can never come back—which means you die."

That seems to be a ban and a warning for those players who choose the Fantasy world. In this game, we are not allowed to enter the Modern world without their permission. If we die there, we'll never respawn—simply put, we're dead and can't play this game anymore with our character/account. That's a significant and vague warning because there's no information about why we shouldn't go there.

These NPCs seem to be very important here. Even if she was an NPC, she provided information and forbade us to enter the Modern world. I think there, in the Modern world, there are also NPCs like this. There must be NPCs that forbid players from going to the Fantasy world. Yeah, I think it must be there too.

"Okay..."

I care about the rules. I wouldn't have done that if I hadn't gotten permission to go there. Even if I am sometimes toxic to the players, I choose to be a man who obeys the rules.

As long as there are rules, then I have limits.

"So, esteemed Adventurer, would you like to take quest?"

That's a good question that I don't think needs to be asked again. I came here to take a quest, but she asked that instead. Well, that's probably because she can't read my mind. But still...

I left the place with her. It was the room to take the certificate as an adventurer and look at yourself in the mirrory.

I didn't read the terms and conditions of this game, but I'm sure they take care of my data and privacy. If they ever leaked that, they would go to jail, and the game would be over. So, the game is safe to play for now.

My first quest on the giant board was only to help farmers grow rice. The quest place in question is in that village, Tjee village. The village was far from the city, so I had to pass through two villages first. And... I've been there while teasing some NPCs.

I took this quest to apologize to the eleven NPCs I misled. I want a good relationship with them, especially with that bald farmer. I want to apologize to him for hitting his head with a stick. I wanted to apologize to him, not for hitting his head for the second time.

As in this game, if you have a good relationship with them, you will get a quest from them. If that applies there, I can get another quest without needing to go back and forth from the city to the village. After all, I have limited stamina and don't have the transportation to travel frequently.

I am an adventurer who wants to try to do good things to the NPCs I bullied before. At least, apologizing is the best thing I can do there.
