Thorn Army

Caius noticed that both knights who were assigned to him were from the Thorn Army. Although Flores Family was the one who managed and owned the Thorn Army, they were mainly used for the sake of royals. For other purposes, they were seldom used.

"Mother! Is it appropriate to use knights from Thorn Army? I am afraid, the empress will again find fault with our family." Caius's face was a little dark.

"It's alright. The empress herself proposed you to be the emperor consort. In a sense you are already a member of royal family as we were not able to reject her. She won't be able to find any fault. Thorn family may serve the royal family. However, they are under the Flores Family. For them Flores Family is the top priority. And the royal is top priority for Flores. For me my son's safety is the the top priority."

Caius was somewhat happy to hear his mother. He was thankful how his mother always put him above else. Still he was afraid..

"...Okay mother."

"They will soon arrive. You can ask them yourself if you have any question."

Caius left after hearing his mother. His mood was conflicted. He looked outside the window. White clouds were floating without any restrain. They looked happy.

He was walking in a large hallway. There was no speck of dust. The hall was bright from the light coming through the windows and with the help of magic stones.

Few servants were busy doing their work. Some knights were roaming inside to ensure security inside the mansion.

Suddenly, Caius's stomach rumbled. He paused his steps. He was ashamed. A light pink was slowly dyeing his fair face. He looked around. He comforted himself. 'No one heard...'

He hadn't eaten since yesterday. He quickened his pace.

He went to the dining hall. Some servants were there.

He asked one of the servant to prepare something to eat.

The servant left the dining hall. Caius sat in his seat. He was wondering what present to buy for Clair's wedding. He just couldn't decide.

He was lost in his thoughts. A servant came and served some ginger bread soup, some peaches, smoked salmon and some other dishes.

They looked appetizing. Caius hunger suddenly grew. He ate all the food laid in front of him with gusto. After clearing all the plates, he was quite.....too full.

He felt some sort of discomfort in his stomach. 'I ate too fast...and too much'

He stood up and went for a walk in the garden. He could see his father and sister. They were still ordering the servants.

He didn't have any idea why they were still there. He wanted to know but he didn't ask them. He knew that if he went to them, they would surely ask him to add more things to the list. He swiftly changed his direction.

The sun was warm. And the clouds were no longer in the sky. They seemed to have escaped to another place following the wind.

The garden was slowly turning naked. A cold gust of air suddenly hit his body. He unconsciously shivered. He was afraid of catching cold.

He returned to his room. He opened the book he was reading another day.

A small sound came following a sharp knock on the door."Young Master, the knights and the personal servant sent by the lady are here."

After hearing the servant, Caius stood up from his chair and went to the study.

When he reached there, he saw two men in knight's dress. They weren't wearing Thorn Army's uniform. They were wearing the uniform of Petals Army.

Petals Army was responsible for the safety of Flores Family. Unlike Thorn Army their existence was not a secret. However, the reputation of Petals Army was also quite good.

There was also a boy. He looked like he was about fifteen. He was visibly smaller than all of them. He had a cheerful face. He seemed likeable in first glance.

Caius came and took his seat.

"I already have your information. But I think it still is more appropriate to listen from you." Caius was sitting in a relaxed manner. He seemed like a small boy who was trying to seem a little more mature.

First of all the boy introduced himself. "Young Master! I am Amell. I have been assigned to serve young master by the lady. I used to be the lady's servant previously. You can count on me to anything on daily basis."

He didn't seem nervous. His words were loud. He seemed confident. His face was glowing.

Those two knights were looking at the boy. As soon as Amell stopped talking, one of the knight opened his mouth.

"Young Master, I am Evandar Solis."

As soon as he closed his mouth, there was silence in the room.

The other knight seemed absentminded. Evandar tugged his arm.

The other knight felt sudden pain. He was startled. He glared at Evandar.

Evandar was looking at him. His face seemed to be saying why are you standing there like a fool.

The other knight was a little embarrassed. He opened his mouth. "YOUNG MASTER! I AM EMMETT SOLIS."

His voice was too loud. It seemed like he was shouting. The two of them who were standing were startled. They turned their head towards him.

Caius was looking at Evandar and Emmett. Their face was almost same. Although he had learned that they were twins, they looked too similar. Their height was almost same. They both were tall. Both's hair was red. They had blue eyes. Too similar.

He was busy finding if they had any kind of differences.

Suddenly when he heard Emmett shouting he also got startled. He smiled. 'He seems too excited...'

Introduction was done. Caius looked at them and said, "Then you three can start your duties right now."

Three of them answered, "Yes! Young Master"

Caius ordered them, "Evandar and Emmett you two get ready to go to market." After hearing him they left in in calm manner.

Since there were many dangers surrounding Caius, he had to be extra careful within and outside the house. Those knights were able to protect him but still they needed to prepare to avoid any mishaps.

Amell was still there smiling. Caius looked at him and said, "We will leave after getting changed."

Amell replied with a smile, "Yes."

Caius went to his room. He got changed into white shirt and blue pants. There was a indigo colored laced bow tie around his neck with a sapphire. He also had a blue blazer.

He looked quite good.

He went downstairs with Amell.

When he reached in front of the house, the carriage was already there waiting for him. Evander and Emmett were also there.

They didn't want to attract any sort of attention. The carriage was relatively smaller that what he used in other days. It still looked beautiful. The carriage didn't have any sign of Flores Family.

Caius boarded the carriage with help of Amell.

After him, three of them also boarded the carriage.

The carriage started to move. They were sitting there being conscious of each other's presence silently.
