The wedding gift

All of them were neither talking nor looking at each other. They were behaving like strangers.

Amell broke the silence. "Young Master! Where should we visit first?"

Caius thought for a while and answered. "Let's go to the Joya store near the river."

The shop was quite far but they had everything one could search for.

Giving a gemstone as a marriage gift was a tradition in Earthenia. Gemstones were given in hope that they would have a happy marriage . Although the tradition wasn't that popular, few people still followed it.

Caius contemplated for a very long time before deciding gemstones.

Caius wanted Clair to have a good wedding life. He thought it could be considered as a good present.

They were sitting in that position for quite a time. Caius was feeling a little bored.

Soon the carriage started to go along the Sefoliurce river. Many shops were there in Ribyer street. Flower shops, clothing stores, restaurants and many more. That place was attraction for all the people who visited the capital.

It was filled with people. It was beautiful. The white water flowing with a force was giving a sense of lost peace.

Soon the carriage crossed the bridge. There were so many children running. Some boys were selling flowers. Everything looked peaceful.

Carriage stopped in front of Joya store.

The store was enormous. The store had all kind of gemstones and jewellery of different price range. That reason made it popular among all the people in the capital. Among almost every social class, Joya store was the most famous one.

Caius was followed by Amell, Evandar and Emmett. Evandar and Emmett were not in the uniform of Flores family. They looked like ordinary knights.

When they stepped inside the store, all the workers were ready to welcome them. Although they didn't know that he was the young master of Flores Family, they still greeted him wholeheartedly.

Afterall a customer was the most important person for them. As long as they could afford, the store could treat every visitor same. It really didn't matter whether the visitor was a noble or not.

That behaviour of the store was strongly criticized by the nobles. They were unsatisfied that even the poor commoners and those richly decorated commoners; merchants, visited the store they were frequently going to.

The store paid no heed to the criticism of nobles and continued its business. All the gemstones and jewelleries available in the store were too beautiful.

No matter how much the nobles despised the idea of visiting the same jewellery store and having to wear same kind of jwelleries as commoners, they couldn't bring themselves to boycott the products of the store.

The store had been around in the capital for almost two decades. Their business was flourishing with each day.

Caius started to look around. The store was well furnished and beautifully decorated. All the jewelleries were inside the glass barriers. One could see them but couldn't touch them. One worker was assigned to almost every visitor.

Everything was well organized.

Caius looked around for a while. But he couldn't decide which one to pick. All the gemstones were beautiful.

The worker following them stepped forward. "Customer, what are you looking for? I will do my best to meet your requirements."

"Could you show me some gemstones that are suitable to give as a wedding present?" Caius said with a smile in his face.

Meeting an easy-going customer of course the worker was happy. He happily led Caius towards the gemstones placed in a glass box.

There were many colored gemstones. Caius really didn't know much about them. There were pink colored ones, golden, silver, fire yellow, and many more.

He couldn't decide which would be best. He decided to ask the worker to help him.

When he was about to ask the worker, a gemstone caught his eye.

The gemstone was as big as an ordinary sized lemon. It seemed like orange in color but in closer look it was almost reddish. It reminded him of sunset. It looked pretty.

He turned towards the worker. "Can you show me that gemstone?"

The worker followed Caius eyes. He opened the box and took out the gemstone. He handed a pair of gloves to Caius. After Caius put on his gloves, he handed the gemstone to him.

On those white gloves, the gemstone seemed exceptionally pretty.

He didn't want to choose so early without looking for other options. But he thought that gemstone would suit Clair very much.

Looking at Caius's satisfied eyes, the worker started to open his mouth.

"Customer, this gemstone is called citrine. It's reddish in colour which makes it quite rare. If you want to gift to someone it would be a good gift. It symbolizes optimism and positivity."

Caius thought of Clair. 'He indeed is optimistic. It will suit him.'

Caius decided to buy that very gemstone.

"Customer, would you like to make a jewellery out of this gemstone?"

Caius thought for a while. Although the tradition was to give a gemstone without converting into a jewellery, he thought it would better to change it into a piece of jewellery. So that Clair could wear it instead of keeping it as a decorative.

Caius said, "Then, you can make a brooch out of it. Can you show some designs?"

Hearing him, the worker took out some designs....

Caius was taking a lot of time. The three of them following him were quite bored. Although their face didn't show it, they were desperate to go out.

They didn't know about jewelleries. They were really not interested as well. But they were professionals and their emotion was hidden well.

Caius came out of the store showing a bright face. He was quite satisfied with the gift he chose for his friends.

Caius didn't get into the carriage. He wanted to buy something for his parents and sister before going to the journey.

He walked through the streets bustling with people. He chose few gifts after visiting several stores.

While returning, Caius decided to not go through the same route. He wanted to go through the so-called less prosperous part of the capital.

Although many people called it less prosperous part of the capital, that place was truly beautiful. Caius used to visit that place with his sister frequently in his childhood.

That place although less prosperous, was closer to the nature. The green fields, those blue, white and yellow wild flowers were really eye-catching.

There was sparse population which made it easy for him to go there to play during his childhood.

Even after so many years, that place was still beautiful.

It's just that Caius never expected to see such sight after going there...
