magic?

Mike looked about 20 from earth's viewpoint and was rather handsome not drop dead gorgeous but he could have turned a few heads if he went out in public, he had scruffy black hair and always wore an uninterested face he had purple serious eyes and could scare most people off with just a look. Right now he was wearing a long white coat that reached down just before his knees along with a black button up shirt and black trousers. He also had very toned muscles that were easily hidden by his baggy clothes

As mike reached the road he reached down into his coats pockets and pulled out a lighter and a pack of cigarettes he looked down at the box of cigarettes and flicked one up and proceeded to light it up as he was putting it in his mouth he spotted a tattered old man riding a waggon filled with goods

"Hey do you know where the closest city is"

"Um young man the capital city is about 200km away"

"Oh ok"

'I guess this ones like medieval times'

Mike learnt a lot from earth as he usually does every time he visits a new planet he makes sure to take in all the information he can before the inevitable end

'Maybe it's like one of those shitty isekai manga i read, well whatever i wonder if this one has magic'

"But there's a town i'm on my way to if you want to have a ride"

"If you don't mind sir"

"Oh now there's no need to be so formal, so kid where you from"

"Far away" mike replied as he looked up at the shining sky

'Oh there's another planet close by, how nice'

"So what's your name young man"

"Its mike, mike francis"

"Mike eh what an unusual name"

"What's your name sir"

"Its kang"

"Well kang how far away is the town"

"Ohh not too far we'll be there in 5 hours or so"

"Ok well kang if it's alright with you i'm gonna take a nap"

"Yes sure go ahead"

"Come on get up i gotta give the wagon back now"

"Right sorry im a deep sleeper"

"Oh i know you are but that's perfect for me" 'swoosh'

The man's head went flying off and the dagger he was holding dropped to the ground as the blood was about to hit mike's clothes it hit an invisible barrier and swiftly dissipated

"Ahh im tired oh he didn't lie though this is definitely a town"

As mike was getting off he noticed something familiar 'adventurers guild damn maybe there really is magic'

He started to light up another cigarette as he walked over to an old building 'tavern if i remember correctly then this is where alcohol is sold back in olden times well i guess i don't mind a drink and i was definitely right, this planet seems much more underdeveloped compared to earth'

He walked into the tavern. inside it was exactly as you would imagine round wood tables well everything was made out of wood it was also packed loads of people mike ended up sitting at a table with someone else

"Hey bartender can i get a martini please"

"A what"

"A martini"

"Yes i heard what is it though"

'Right right not earth need to remember that well i was there for 208 years so it's hard to readjust'

"Oh well don't worry about it just give me the strongest thing youve got please"

"Yes sir right away"

The bartender seemed about 30 years old and had a slight mustache along with short ginger hair.

The drink arrived and mike added "do you mind getting me three more of these please"

Right before the waiter was about to say something mike swiftly gulped down the drink she brought him

The waiter was a young girl with big brown eyes and long green hair

Mike didn't care for appearances much, and also never changed his even if the planet he visited was inhabited by people who looked nothing like humans

The person sat across from him was wearing a long brown robe that covered his or her appearance

Mike did not attempt to strike up a conversation and sat in silence whilst smoking his cigarette

The person sat across from him spoke "umm excuse me sir what is that thing your doing"

"What this" mike held out his cigarette

"Yes what is it"

"This is a magical tool that allows me to feel relief"

"What" the person that sounded like a boy seemed clearly confused

"What which part tripped you up was it magic"

"No don't be silly everyone knows what magic is"

"What can you do magic"

"Yes of course"

'Well that answers that question'

"So you wanna give it a go mike said with a smile on his face"

"Oh really"

"No go find one yourself" mikes expression changed back to his usual one

"Dammit" the person stood up revealing his face

"Dammit, dammit, dammit everyone always disrespect me but i've had enough i'll show you my true power" 'boom'

The person's body hit the floor

Everyone was looking over but assumed nothing of it and thought that he just passed out but three people knew that the boy had just died
