Chapter 5

"Wow It was four pm", Mr James looked at his watch and said. He had been working the whole day but he needed to go see the Collins family this evening, he packed up the documents he was working on and called in his secretary John.

"Come in John", he said to the telecom receiver,

"Sure sir" John replied on the other side. He knocked on the door two minutes later.

"Come in" Mr James said from inside his office.

"You called me sir" John said once he entered the Chairman's office,

"I will be leaving early today John, tell Lenson to get the car ready I will be down in ten minutes".

"Sure sir anything else", John asked

"No you may go" Mr James said

"Okay sir" he answered and left.

Mr James packed his suitcase and left his office. He went to the CEO's office which was on the 15th floor.

He knocked on the door and entered, Julius was sitting behind his desk and working on his computer when Mr James entered.

"Evening dad, do you need something. You could have called me", Julius said standing up from his seat

"No i don't need anything, I am leaving so you can go back home alone once you are done" Mr James informed him, Julius looked at his watch and asked "So early dad",

"Yes, your mom and I have to go talk to the Collins about Alicia's refusal of the wedding proposal remember", Mr james said.

"Oh yeah dad best of luck with that then", Julius said "Thanks I really need that",

"See you at home" Mr James said with a smile and turned to leave

"Sure Dad" Mr James heard Julius say behind him.

Andrew James went up to his private elevator that led directly to the parking lot and met his driver Lenson and Assistant John standing beside the car. John opened the car's back door for him and he got in, John and Lenson got in after him.

"To the city hospital Lenson" Mr James told his driver. "Sure sir" he said and started the car. Mr James was going to the City hospital to meet his wife so they could go talk to the Collins together. He was really nervous about how the Collins would react to Alicia's rejection of the marriage, he never knew Alicia would have such a strong aversion to getting married now. He just hoped everything goes well, In the middle of his thoughts Lenson said to him.

"Sir we have arrived", Mr James was pulled out of his thoughts, he turned to his driver and said "okay Lenson you can go back home with the car I will be coming back with my wife's car. Thanks for your hardwork today".

"Thank you sir" Lenson replied. Mr James turned to his assistant who was sitting beside him "John, Lenson will drop you home, see you tomorrow".

"Okay sir Goodnight" John replied.

Mr James dropped from the car and went inside the building, he went straight to the Sixth floor where the Neurosurgery department was located. His wife's office was the first office located on the 6th floor.

He met her personal assistant Evelyn in her position in front of her office when he got there. "

"Evening Evelyn", He greeted her and she raised her head up to see who had greeted her.

"Good evening sir how are you", she greeted with a smile on seeing her boss's husband

"Am fine and you",

"Am fine too sir"

"Is my wife inside" he asked her

"Yes sir she just finished a surgery so she must be taking a nap" she said

"Okay", Mr James said and entered the office.

Julie James didn't hear the door open because she was taking a nap with her head resting on her chair's headrest. Andrew James went behind her and helped her to massage her forehead. She snapped her eyes open in alarm when she felt the touch and saw her husband smiling at her

"Honey its you" she said,

"You look tired" Mr james replied without stopping the massage.

"Yes I'm quite tired, why are you here though" she asked.

"Have you forgotten we have to talk to the Collins about Alicia's alliance today" he asked her

"Ohh that's true it almost skipped my mind. Let's go now then" she said trying to stand up

Andrew James pulled her to sit back on the chair and said "We will go later, I think you should get some more rest".

"No honey I am fine I have rested enough, the earlier we discussed this the better, let's go" she said and stood up again

"Okay then let's go" Andrew James told her and they both went to the Twelfth floor which was the VVIP wards. When they got to VVIP ward six they met the whole Collins family. Grandpa Collins, Grandma Collins, Anthony and Kisha Collins- Nathans parents, Ria Collins -Nathan's elder sister, Johnny Collins- Nathan's younger brother and Stacy Collins Nathans -younger sister with Nathan been the only one absent, he is probably still at the office.

They were all laughing about something Andrew and Julie entered. Anthony Collins was the first to notice them.

"Hey, Andrew Julie you guys are here" after which the whole family turned to look at them.

"Yes hope we are not late" Andrew smiled and replied "No not at all thanks for coming" Kisha Collins said and hugged Julie.

"How are you Andrew", she turned to him and asked Kisha, Anthony and Andrew were childhood friends but Kisha's family was based in New york and they were family friends with the Collins she lived with them here in California back then and she went back to New York with them all those years ago.

"Am fine Kisha, how are aunt and uncle", Andrew asked her with a smile.

"They are alright, I will send your regards to them" she replied with a smile.

"Come on in Andrew we were just talking about you" Grandpa Collins said.

Andrew looked at his wife and they both moved towards the family.

"How are you feeling now uncle Raymond, how is your health" Andrew James asked Grandfather Collins.

"I am fine now Andrew don't worry",he replied

"That's good, here Kisha please have this" Andrew said handing over the basket of fruits in his hands to Kisha, "You didnt have to Andrew" Grandma Collins said.

"I had to Aunt Anna, how can I come here empty handed".

"Aigoo, but you are family, formalities aren't necessary between us" Anna Collins said and they all smiled.

" And how is work Julie, hope it isn't stressful" grandma Collins asked Julie James

"Being a doctor is always stressful aunt but we are managing" Julie James said and everyone laughed. "Aunty" Stacy said holding Julie's arm

"Yes my dear" Julie replied turning to the girl

"Can you please convince my mom and dad for me. I had told them I wanted to be a doctor but the both of them keep on refusing to send me to Med school saying its stressful and demanding", Stacy whined to Julie.

"Did you seriously have to bring this up Stacy" Kisha said

"Yes mom I had to because you never listen to me and even my grandparents and siblings support you, hmpph" young Stacy snorted.

Julie laughed and turned to Kisha, "Why are you stopping the poor girl Kisha, let her do want she wants to. Yes I admit been a doctor can be quite stressful and demanding but all the stress becomes worth it when you are doing what you love, don't force the girl to do something she doesn't want to, a person is more productive at what they do when they are doing what they love so just let her do it guys" Julie told them

"Okay then, fine you can go but don't you dare complain later" Anthony told Stacy

"Of course dad, I will be fine thank you"

"Thanks Aunt Julie, you are my new role model now", Stacy said and hugged Julie.

"You are welcome my dear" Julie told her and they all smiled.
