Chapter 34
"We are going to the Old Mansion tomorrow", Nathan informed Alicia during breakfast the next morning.
"U hmm, okay", Alicia replied and continued her meal.
"Good morning Sir, Morning Madam", Ryan greeted them as he entered the house
"Good morning Secretary Ryan", Alicia replied with a smile
"Have you gone to the site to check the progress of the mall", Nathan asked looking at his Secretary
"No sir I couldn't go yesterday, but I will go now after dropping you off at the office", Ryan replied bashfully
"No go there now, I will drive myself to the office", Nathan told him
"Alright sir", Ryan replied and left.
"Butler Dan, tell Vinson to prepare another car for me", Nathan said cleaning his hands.
"Sir its the last Monday of the month today, we have sent all the cars in the garage for servicing", Butler Dan informed
"Does that mean there are no other cars available in this house right now", Nathan asked
"Only Madam's car, that's the only car available",
"You can use it, its not too feminine don't worry and I am not going anywhere today", Alicia said interfering
"Are you sure", Nathan asked,
"Yes", Alicia replied with a smile.
"Thank you then. Bye", Nathan said picked up his coat and left. After he had gone Alicia also stood up from the table
"I am done Butler Dan, I will be in my showroom", she informed and jogged up the stairs.

"Have you done it", a woman whose face was covered in black shades and black face mask wearing a black hoodie said on the phone while watching an SUV drive out of a luxurious house.
"Yes its done", the person on the other end replied
"Good, you will get the balance of your payment when the whole job is done", the woman said again looking at the car drive off in the distance
"Okay", the person on the other end said and hung up.
"Rest in peace Alicia James", the woman laughed evilly before entering her car and driving off.

"Is it solved", Nathan asked into the phone
"Yes it is Sir", Ryan replied from the other end
"Okay then, I will in the office in the next twenty minutes", Nathan said and hung up.
Then he suddenly saw a speeding truck racing towards him from the car's side mirror. He tried to evade the truck but soon realized the brakes had failed before he could comprehend anything the truck crashed into him from behind and the car collided with a tree.
"Its done, send the payment", the truck driver said and left the vicinity.
Alicia was busy in her showroom when she heard a news on the television
"A terrible accident happened on the highway this morning involving a truck and an SUV, the truck driver is nowhere to be found but the person driving the car was found in critical condition and has been moved to the City hospital". Alicia watched the video of the accident and dropped the things in her hands
"Thats..., that's my car. Nathan", she yelled and ran out of the showroom. "Butler Dan", she shouted running down the stairs and the man ran out of the kitchen
"Call a taxi quickly",
"What happened madam", The Butler asked
"Call a taxi quickly, I have to go to the city hospital. Nathan was involved in an accident",
"What, I will call a taxi quickly. Just stay right here", Butler Dan said and ran out of the house.
"Please keep Nathan safe God", Alicia prayed crying.
"The taxi is outside madam Let's go", Butler Dan said and left the house with Alicia.
"I will inform the old Mansion", Butler Dan said to Alicia and she just nodded crying. A few minutes later the taxi stopped in front of the City hospital and Alicia ran inside.
"Where is the patient from the highway accident this morning", she asked the receptionist.
"He is in the OT", the lady replied and Alicia ran up all the way to the Fifth floor. Stopping in front of the OT she met two doctors standing by the door.
"Alicia" she heard someone yell her name and saw her mother running towards her.
"Are you OK baby",
"yes mom I am fine" Alicia replied
"I saw your car in the accident scene on the news thank God you are okay", Julie said hugging her daughter tightly.
"Mom I am okay but Nathan is in the OT he was the one driving my car this morning", Alicia said bursting into tears.
"What", "Relax my dear, Nathan will be OK", Julie comforted her daughter.
"He has to be mom"
"Doctor Jen, how is the patient", Julie asked turning to the doctors in front of her
"The patient is in critical condition and we have to perform surgery immediately. Can you call his family, they have to sign the consent form", the doctor told Julie and Alicia
"I am his wife, I will sign the consent form, just make sure you save him", Alicia said facing the doctor.
"We will try our best Madam", the doctor said and entered the ward.
"Come with me to sign the consent form", Julie said and pulled Alicia with her.
A few minutes later Alicia, her mother and Ryan were sitting in front of the OT.
"Alicia", someone called and Alicia turned to see the Collins family running towards them. Her brothers and father along with Zia were behind them
"How did it happen my dear", Kisha asked Alicia
"Mom", Alicia said and burst into tears hugging Kisha
"Its okay dear, tell us what happened", Grandma Collins said patting Alicia's head and made her sit down.
"All the cars in the garage weren't available and Secretary Ryan had to go visit the mall site. So I told Nathan to use my car, I saw the news of the accident thirty minutes after he left",
"Its OK pumpkin he will be fine", Julius said and hugged his weeping sister.
The whole family sat outside the Operation Theater for two hours before the doctors came out.
"How is he now", Alicia asked standing up from where she was seating
"He is out of danger now but we will keep him in the ICU for the next 24 hours", the doctor said
"But when will he regain consciousness", Julius asked.
"He will regain consciousness within the next hour", the doctor informed
"Thank you doctor", Alicia said and the whole family breathe a sigh of relief.
Fourty minutes later Nathan regained consciousness
"How are you feeling Mr Collins", the doctor asked checking his vitals
"Fine", Nathan replied in a weak voice
"Your vitals are also stable, you will be moved out of the ICU tomorrow morning",
"Okay", Nathan replied and the doctor and nurses left.
"You can go see him now but only two at a time", the doctor told the family once he came out of the ward.
Kisha and Grandma Collins entered first then Anthony and Grandpa Collins, the James family entered afterwards.
"I will stay here with you tonight", Kisha informed Alicia
"No mom, you all should go home, I will be fine",
"Alicia..", Julie was saying when Julius cut her off
"Alicia is right mom, there is nothing for us to do here, let's all go home",
"Okay but call us if you need anything", Andrew said patting her head.
"Yes dad", Alicia said and the whole family left.
"You should leave too Secretary Ryan, thank you for today".
"Alright Madam, call me if there is anything" Ryan replied and left.
After they had all gone Alicia finally entered the ward.
"How are you feeling", she asked Nathan who just kept staring at her for a long while before finally saying
"Did someone die, why are your eyes so swollen, how many hours did you cry for"
"When I saw the news I thought that.."
"You thought that I had died, do you want to become a widow so badly?", Nathan said cutting her off.
"Why were you so careless how did you even collide into the truck", Alicia asked staring at him
"The driver of the truck was my long lost friend, I haven't seen him so long and I wanted to hug him so I ran towards him but I forgot I was still in the car and bam the accident happened", Nathan narrated and Alicia burst into laughter.
"Stop laughing, I almost died you know", Nathan said and Alicia laughed even harder
"You don't sound like someone that just came back from the jaws of death", she said laughing
"Get me a glass of water when you are done laughing", Nathan said sitting up on the bed.
"Careful", Alicia said holding him up
"I know you desperately want to touch me don't make it so obvious", Nathan said gloatingly
"Why are you so narcissistic", Alicia asked and Nathan just snorted. Alicia handed him a glass of water.
"I will go get your dinner", she said and left the ward.
