11 - Decision

I wasn't sure of what the girl would feel at the moment but I knew what I felt. Anger. At the guard, myself, and probably the other Gods. But my anger was also probably misplaced after all I was thinking like a human.

Ignoring my thoughts I kept watching as the two girls held themselves, watched as the dying girl choked while pointing to the path the guard ran.

It was obvious what she intended. But I didn't move as I stood there. Watching I saw Moira stand the square empty the guards all quick.to.runoff, her choking sister at her feet, and her gaze burning a bright red.

I could see and feel the ability boiling within her body forcibly adapting her cells and structure to its benefit. At this rate, she would need less than 20 if not half of it to get my blessing or burn from the inside.

"She needs to make a decision fast or she won't survive the night" I muttered looking to the distance and then back.

She was gone her form disappearing in a race into the forest where the guard had gone.

"How long till that other ability kicks in?" I asked myself.

[NOT NOW. AFTER SOME RANKS.]

Nodding I looked at the still-choking girl who was staring up at tbe sky. Her lips moved as if in prayer.

[THIS IS A CHANCE.]

"It feels wrong."

[YOU'RE DOING IT TO HELP HER. NOT TO GET HER PRAYER]

" I guess. Belief or not huh? You really are me."

[THE SMARTER PART]

"Shut it. " I looked at the girl again and then sighed.

"Glad I added that part now eh"

[INDEED. IT DOES HAVE ITS BENEFITS]

It hurt badly. It was what Carla could feel, her mind was blackening out her thoughts scrambling. Still, she prayed for Moira's victory and her people's safety.

There was no particular god on her mind or lips but she still sent it out there.

Finally, her vision reached its limit and she could feel the heavyweights on her lids. Yet something ticked at her to force them open. Just for a while, she told herself.

Her eyelids pushed apart and she saw what it was that got her attention. If she could gasp with her torn throat she would so, but she instead stared at the flying figure that hovered over her.

Black hair as dark as the night hung from his head, blue eyes deeper than even an ocean. She had always thought Moira's were the bluest she would see.

But the amazing part was the wings. As black as his hair yet with a glow that screamed out its magnificence, she felt her heart churning.

Did a God hear her? Was this a messenger? Watching as the figure dropped till his feet touched the floor then crouching till he knelt his all-white attire definitely staining.

She tried turning her neck to glance at him but a hand on her forehead stopped her.

Yet all she could think was sending this being to Moira's aid.

The figure backed up a bit seemingly shocked by something then smiling he nodded.

"I have decided. "he spoke. Then stretching his palms to her neck she felt a strange but soothing energy course over her neck. While she felt strange her gaze never left the being's face.

" May... I... know your...name?" she asked her voice seemingly beginning to work. A smile grazed the being's face before he replied.

"A reward fitting a soul as you. But I give more if you accept."

"To your sister, I granted the means to fight against her oppressors. To you, I see fit to give life. Will. you become my priestess like your sister and lead a new age for those victimized like you both."

"Wait. Are you granting me a blessing?" she asked astounded. It was unheard of for a god to ask a human if the needed or wanted the blessing.

They simply gave it.

Here was a seemingly powerful god and he was asking. Who was he? She could not remember any statue of his in any church she had been to. Unless was this an avatar.?

Her eyes widened. If she was right then she was questioning. a God's gift to her.

"No need to be alarmed. I ask this of you simply because my identity is special. Accepting would put a mark on you, not now but soon when things come to light."The being spoke again.

" Who exactly are you.?" She asked again. She noted the thoughtful look on his handsome face before a sigh left his lips.

"I think of myself as the one who was, but now is. I left my old name behind because it is not who I am anymore. So call me...." she watched as the god hesitated for a moment before exhaling and with a shrug spoke.

"Erlezos."

The dark sky flashed with a bolt of white and blue lightning illuminating the blue gaze of the god. Next came the thunder that boomed loudly before the wind picked up blasting around him ruffling his hair and revealing the smile that made her stomach clench.

"It's a god. You almost got raped. Hold yourself girl". She thought.

" I'll ask again. Will you.."

"Yes".

" Hmm. Are you certain.?" he asked his eyes narrowed and his smile gone. She looked down a bit then back a conviction burning in her eyes.

"I prayed for a while, but none answered. You might be the only one who has answered. You saved my sister and gave her the power to defend and fight her enemies. Healed me. Yes, I'm sure. "

"Very well then" his words were a hammer that sounded with finality and simultaneously she heard a ding and a line of words appear in her vision blocking out the god who now had a bead rolling in his fingers.

[ ERLEZOS HAS GRANTED YOU HIS BLESSING.]

[YOU HAVE RECEIVED THE TITLE - PRIESTESS OF ERLEZOS THE????????]

While the read the ability bead dropped into her head and dissolved. Unlike Moira whose ability bead was still boiling within to get comfortable. Carla's ability seed disintegrated into her mind quickly and settled in with the granted blessing.

[ERLEZOS HAS GRANTED YOU AN ABILITY BEAD]

[ABILTIY BEAD SWAN'S GRACE ATTAINED]

[SWAN'S GRACE]

Unlike healers who hide in the crowd, the swan uses its prowess in combat. As deadly as warriors yet with a clerics touch. A formidable force to have.

At that very moment, she felt a form of reverence unlike any she ever had.
