90 - Mutation

"This is quite underwhelming" a sigh of both relief and disappointment left my lips.

It had been quite alarming to think of an all-father here in my multiverse when I didn't feel myself strong enough to contend against one.

But now that I realized that it was a order being and a not so powerful one after all I felt cheated.

Don't get me wrong. I wasn't seeking trouble. But the fight that came after the near heart attack was nothing like I expected.

Sure it almost had me. But that was all. Without being able to drain the order within me its attacks were mundane and nothing. It's speed was a good factor for it but against me it was useless.

In other words. It was like a movie trailer that came out as a bomb only to watch the movie and see a match flame. Over Hyped.

But still I think it was best. Always overestimating ones enemies made you seem weaker and more prepared for anything.

Soldier white stood on all fours now. It seemed to have realized that it couldn't beat me as me. But it made me laugh as I wanted to tell it that it had more chances as me than as Tepes.

Well I wasn't like stupid MCs that got all arrogant and decided to let their opponent be better just cause I think I'm powerful. Hell no.

Vailex returned to my grasp as I stared Soldier white down. It snorted and then growled before leaping. It aimed to grab at the cliff side in front of it and use it to pounce up.

"It seems to have forgotten its floating ability for a moment.". I observed. With that I waved my left palm and the rocks it aimed for crumbled as a rulerune flashed on its surface.

Without anything to grasp onto it fumbled and fell. It was quick to catch itself but it was too late.

I had moved already. Spamming flaize glaze I appeared next to it in the air with Vailex descending. Instead of waiting for the clash I let go and disappeared letting Vailex keep striking.

Reappearing behind it I made for its scruff only to wince as its jaws closed over my hand. Vailex was quick to capitalize.

The blade disappeared into its body right where the lungs would have been if it had one.

A howl of pain rent the air as it shivered letting go of my hand.

Attempting another strike my left palm moved this time. But surprisingly it stopped and rammed at me.

My hand sunk into its chest of liquid order just as its maw opened and from within came white flames.

" Order fire" I cursed. The flames descended on me and bathed my face with its hot wave. And beneath it my face simmered and steamed.

[You Still Have Enough Order To Not Be Affected By Order Attacks. So Ignore The Measly Flames And Finish It Off!!] Berus roared out within my head.

Alert, I pushed my fist deeper into its chest and grabbed about. The creature now certain about what I wanted to do became frantic. Thrashing about it pushed away from me trying to getaway but my other arm had locked around its back in a vice grip. Vailex was still stabbing continuously on its shoulders without respite.

Finally I found it and my fist closed around it.

It wasn't small or big. It was the size of my fist. Small enough to be grasped but big enough to not let my palm cover it.

Chaos and Order. Two energies that existed side by side. Energies we're always impervious to the other energies. This was why the only way to kill a god was to steal all of its divinity. Going as far as to shatter the divine core.

It was no different for the other energies. But apparently no god had battled a chaos being to know or had kept it secret. Whatever it was it was over now.

Unlike one would expect I didn't rip out its core like a certain favourite character of mine would have done. Nope.

I simply began absorbing the order. Two things happened that made Vailex stop its attacks and hover up.

One, Soldier white began jerking even more frantically. Two was me. Ever heard a god scream before.

Well now I did. Hell the whole multiverse did. There was no toughing up and tanking the pain or acting all powerful for it.

The energy that flowed into my body was unlike the cores I used before. No. It was more. It was refined but chaotic. Ironic. Bubbling like the tops of a lava lake it rushed through me and several changes became evident.

First was that while Soldier White shrank I grew. But it was not the mass I was gaining that was shocking. No.

My body pulsed and quivered like jelly. The order being made one last attempt to get free by biting at my neck. Annoyed I let go and it sprang ready to flee only to receive a blade into its mouth pinning it to the ground.

It made one last desperate howl as its body broke and dropped before it went silent. Silent because ifs body was gone. Thoroughly reabsorbed into the core I grasped as I kept draining it.

The white fist sized core shook and shivered before dimming and then scattering into nothing as the last of it found a new home within me.

The space around my body shivered and trembled. Then I screamed.

My vision spurn as I lost sight. My stomach lurched as if I had eaten. My bones creaked and squeaked while my head and brain boiled.

Every inch of me went through a different pain as I squirmed atop the mountain.

My limbs broke and shattered them refined itself. Golden ichor flowed from all my orifices as I vented my pain.

What frightened me more though was the fact that Berus was screaming as well. How and why I wasn't certain but his screams mirrored mine.

I didn't know how long it went on for but finally the pain stopped. And everything became silent.

Not for long. With Berus, silence was a fallacy.
