Side Chapter - 102 - Moira's Tale 2

The loud din of something crashing through trees and into the ground was clear enough for all those around to hear. Yet most eyes were locked on the girl standing at the spot where she had leaped to her right hand already unfurled while the left tossed away the arrow pieces that she had crushed.

Yet before anyone could even make a breath she was gone. Not disappearing gone, more like fast gone. Too much so she was barely a mirage in their eyes. Speeding through the trees and around the various obstructions her eyes locked on her evolution material picking itself up.

Said evolution material was an Orc. A completely green-skinned, muscular, 7foot tall commander Orc with a double-handed axe. A red feather stuck out of his long braided hair, and a bandana tied around his biceps. There were a few bleeding nicks and slashes all over his skin testament to the long and grueling fight both had been through.

Yet nothing annoyed Moira more than its eyes. Those beady things looked at her like a butcher looked at the next set of meat to be sold at his store. Worthless.

Even her punch now had barely given her its respect. Not like she understood why she would want its respect. But in a way, she also understood why it had none for her. This was a higher lifeform if the evolution requirements was lying. She was beneath this thing in both soul essence and stats. Even her skills compared to it was inferior.

Yet with her rising annoyance she refused to think irrationally. Carla and a few humans amongst the group she led had always hammered on it. Never let your enemy rile you up. Charging in head first was a mistake at least without proper thoughts and strategies. Still it angered her to be looked down on but she didn't let hr cloud her judgement, the fight was important.

Not that she was to blame. The appearance of tbe fellows behind her had made her panicked. After all her requirement needed for her to battle and slay this Orc alone.

So here she was fist raised ready to punch the Orc yet again . Fist met steel as her knuckles slammed strongly against the metal of the axe. A groan of steel could be heard. The Orc though remaining impassive facially was already sweating mentally.

"How is this possible".

"Did she just make my axe bend? This be the Algean Steel, the dwarves make no light of it ".He mentally pondered. Yet he was certain as he took a look that indeed her punch had created a dent in the axe blade.

Sumac was stunned. Yet at the same time he got livid. The axe had cost him a lot in resources to attain. Having it bent was very unappealing to him. Now extremely angered his left palm flashed out back handing the girl away.

Sumac of course didn't realize his anger was more to do with the fact that what he considered a lower life form had bent his axe showing greater strength than him. A human nonetheless. He wasn't old enough to clearly remember the First Shattering. But he knew enough about the current status quo of this world. Another reason for his annoyance.

The stare she gave him like a prey that would be hunted, no. A prey that was stubbornly refusing to die. Insulted he dashed forward axe raised with one hand his rage getting the best of him .

Moira noting this was fast to sweep low taking his feet away while simultaneously performing a hand stand to flip herself to her feet. Sumac crashed back first just as she was upright then both locked eyes.

Moira barely acted when the axe came at her flung harshly. Yet she simply caught it blade first. A bit of pain registering as the metal cut an inch in her palm. Looking up to glare at the Orc Moira barely realized the fist clouding her vision as she was hurled away head whipping back. Her body flew through the oath she came from and after a few smashed trees later smacked into the forest soil.

Footsteps around her brought her feet to the ground instantly as she sprang to attack again.

"Woah. Woah. Calm. Were humans just like you" A startled voice yelled out while simultaneously stepping back arms raised in surrender.

Moira made a quick sweep spotting two more figures in an instant. Her senses were a far cry from strong enough to spot various things usually. Infact she was prone to getting ambushed when all alone. Luckily she was usually with Cara when not amongst the other humans in her group.

Which was why she was glad the other two made no attempt to hide as she would have been unable to spot them. Though she suspected there would be others hiding within the forest around her.

Her thoughts and words were halted as a roar from where she came from echoed to meet her.

"Stay out of this" she ordered. Spotting the quiver and bow on one of the two farther off she gave him a look before turning to bound off.

"Is she sane at all?" The boy who had been closest to her commented his gaze going to the other three of his partners who just shrugged.

"She wants to stay out of it. Lets do so. Maybe she's capable".The female if the three muttered before looking around obviously lacking any care to the ongoing events.

"I say we move on then. We still have to find the others. " the boy commented.

"We wait. See if she can lead us to any known location or something. We don't know this parts "The arrow boy stated.

" And she does? " the first boy commented obviously not liking the idea. Arrow boy shrugged.

"What if she doesn't kill the Orc?" the female asked.

"Then we run. We're not strong enough to dace against something like that yet.".Arrow boy answered with a sigh.

"Which is why we need to hurry and meet the people we were sent to find."

"And waste time scouring a forest we have no mapping on. Best to see if we can get the girl as a guide. Plus she's strong. If she agrees , we might have both a pathfinder and a protector of sorts."Arrow boy sat down obviously saying the argument was over. With a sigh the other also marched up to them taking a seat while his eyes and Arrow boy's remained peeled for danger and the girls return.

"Is it just me or does she seem ... i don't know, strange?" The female asked.

"How?" The first boy asked.

"Well, she looks human. Though her hair is strange. Then there's her strength. I thought we humans lacked such strengths"she noted.

" Well yeah. Unless somehow she managed to get stronger in an ... unorthodox way". Arrow boy's voice dragged out at the end as he stared off to the path Moira went.

"Nope. It cant be". The first boy disagreed before Arrow boy could even raise his suspicions.

"Its has to be" The girl retorted a bland look on her face.

"He did say they had their abilities longer and benefited from it immensely. But also he said you'd know the signs. See anything strange" Arrow boy faced the first boy again.

Just as he made to shrug his shoulders the ground quaked yet again and out flew a body though this time it was apparently the Orc. And right after him was two reddish light beams that fractured the space the tore through.

Both beams striking the Orc midair and exploding in a flame torrent the felt from even there. The Orc was thrown further back his skin ablaze, his roars of pain making them shudder as he crashed through the trees yet again. The ground quaked as she landed right in front of them but a distance off before leaping away creating a burst like she had done earlier where the floor caved and shot after the screaming Orc.

"Okay. I'm not sure. But she should be one. I doubt humans have the means for such power". Arrow boy muttered his face frozen from shock.

" Its her alright" the first boy whispered. He wasn't sure how or why. But somehow he felt a familiarity about her. Almost like she was someone he had been seeking without knowing. Why he knew only when she used those beams and not before he wasn't sure. Turning to the two he smirked

"Its definitely her".
