Side Chapter - 104 - Two rewards in one day, Carla's Progression 2

Moira woke up to little whispers and hushes around her. The voices while in an argument tried to reduce their tones obviously to not disturb her sleep.

Not like it mattered she was awake. Sitting up the bear hide moved as she exposed herself. Stripped down to nothing but her inner garment she could feel a sense of relief in her movements while not burdened by the armor.

Her eyes looked around as she rose to her feet. The ground cracked quite a bit as she pulled herself up.

"That's new. " her eyes locked on the indents of her feet on the forest floor before she shrugged and walked on heading for the entrance.

Outside the sun was gone and the area was dark, lit up only by torches here and there. That's when she realized something interesting. Her vision was weird.

No, it was better than normal. Looking past the lights and into the dark she could make out the things within the dark. From the trees to the leaves to the tiny scurrying creatures on the floors. Her sight wasn't just better it was enhanced. It made things clearer and far more beautiful. She could note the very pores of the trees and their leaves. Could see the little drops of water rolling off the stems.

"Hey, you're awake" her head turned to Carla who stood there with a smile on her cheeks. Her cheeks were clearer than ever giving her a proper view of the pores and cells on them. Her eyes were so blue she was certain to be lost in them.

"Damn this is much" Moira cursed as she shut her eyes to snap out of the daze of zooming in on things.

"Are you okay?"

Nodding Moira just smiled before opening her eyes. "Just hungry". Both walked onto the campfire while she accessed the area noting the apologetic four that had been arguing next to her tent. Obviously believing that they had disturbed her. With a smile at them, she looked back to the campfire.

The folks around were all jolly and merry, something that had been happening quite recently. Apart from the pair of adults that argued neared her tent while holding a cup each. They danced and vocalized while holding cups of wild ale in hand. Moira couldn't understand how ale was a priority for these folks when there was danger everywhere. Yet she understood that life had to be lived and not just survived.

Sitting down atop a felled log Carla to her left, the blonde smiled as she received a plate of 'food'. It was mostly boar meat with a weird mashup of vegetables. Smiling to the dancing folks and raising a cup of ale to them she delved into her food.

She watched the activities around her as she ate and drank. A smile was visible on her cheeks while she nodded her head to the tapping of the wooden makeshift drums as the fellows sang.

She didn't worry about attracting dangers since they were at the very edge of the forest. Plus she had already scoured and hunted everything dangerous in a 300-meter radius. Then there were the guards watching from atop trees ready to hoot their horns if something unaccounted for approached.

Between her and Carla, and the several armed fighters and hunters it was a certainty that they would be safe. So everyone was relaxed.

" Moira Duran?" A voice asked from behind her. It was familiar and brought alertness to her senses. Turning she laid eyes on him and sighed. It was the arrow boy and behind him was his cohort.

"How'd you get here?" she asked. A slight gaze from him behind her gave her the answer she sought. Without turning she continued.

"And what do you want?" she wasn't antagonistic for nothing. While the human race was in trouble from the other races it was mostly humans who sold themselves for survival to the other races that were an issue. Implanting themselves into growing communities to watch and then spill secrets that led to various downfalls wasn't unheard of. It was something that she had experienced firsthand.

"I and my cohort were sent to find a certain group. That wouldn't be you. would it.?. We were told we would know those we sought when we found them. Or rather he would know" Arrow boy turned to nod at the sword-wielding male who simply stared.

At this point, Moira was already up on her feet. A sense of unease rose in her. 'I never did catch that guard' She thought.

"I.." arrow boy's words were cut short as pressure assaulted him. Looking at the girl he suddenly found her collosal and towering.

His mind trembled and he felt a shiver down his spine. 'What is this?'. He tried taking a step back but his body wasn't agreeing. A terrible foreboding of pain and death assaulted him. Shuddering he gasped dramatically for breath while Moira stared at him.

"That's enough Moira. Let him speak"

Like it was never there the pressure vanished. Arrow boy found himself on his knees gasping for air while behind him the two of his friends stared wide-eyed.

It was unexpected.

"I won't ask again. Who. Sent. You?" Under threat of the pressure returning Arrow bit was quick to answer. It wasn't like he didn't want to say. He simply wanted to be sure to avoid getting himself in trouble. But after seeing the statue of a winged man, plus already viewing the capabilities the girl possessed he figured that it had to be her.

"The God Erlezos."

Moira froze, Carla behind her stiffened a bit. Moira turning stared straight at her sister before looking back to the boy.

"That's impossible. If you were from him then I would..."

Her words halted as a ding sounded in her head and the familiar screen shot up in her view.

"I guess he speaks the truth " she muttered her focus totally on her reward. She'd be lying if she said her secondary motivation wasn't whatever reward she would receive here.

"Take care of them, Carla, I have to attend to something" Without a pause she turned not even sparing a glance at the boy who while he was still shocked by everything was also peeved at her lack of regard for him.

Carla though just sighed and looked with an apologetic smile to the trio.

"I hope you don't get too annoyed, she's very protective of us and besides the great one gave her a special mission that she's taking very seriously. I'm Carla Duran by the way. You already met my big sister Moira Duran. Welcome to camp New Hope".

The three just stared wordlessly at her, arrow boy still feeling annoyed and surprisingly determined to get stronger.

Standing he looked to where Moira disappeared into a tent before he stared back at the petite girl before him.

"Hi. I'm Kendor." he raised a hand for a shake. The tiny palms went into his grasp before gripping softly yet he tensed as he felt the strength in them.

'She's not ordinary either' he thought. Shaking himself out of his thoughts he turned while retrieving his palm to motion to the two.

"This is Humda and Sanda. Siblings and my cohort. We were sent together to find and lead you all back to our home."

" We know. We've been searching for you all equally. Let's sit and discuss, Moira will be here soon". Carla assured motioning to the log for them to sit. The people about hadn't even noticed the little fiasco except for a few that always kept eyes on their surroundings.

Within the tent, Moira looked hesitantly at a prompt with a simple question.

[CLAIM YOUR REWARD] - (YES/NO)

What would it be? Would it be helpful? Was it something that complimented her new battle style or helped with healing wounds? She wasn't sure of what she would receive.

"Arghh. Just get it over with. No point thinking when you can just see". With those words, she mentally clicked the yes icon.

[REWARDS CLAIMED]

[ERLEZONITE ARMOR - HERALD]

Space shivered and then like a ripple of water parted to let a cloth drop out. Instead of hitting the ground though it floated right before her. It shone with a golden luster that dimmed right away the moment she touched it. Dropping into her grasp she noted the plain look, white yet with streaks of black lightning bolts across the arms. There wasn't one bit of metal plate on it. Just gauntlets that were at its wrists and boots that were black. The was an eye symbol engraved in gold on the chest of the armor with a golden chain around the hip of the material.

Looking at it intently information about the armor suddenly popped up visible to her

[ERLEZONITE ARMOR - HERALD]

[RANK SS]

Its wearer already having the form of an indestructible god was granted the armor to increase her prowess. It's junior while not as powerful as it is in no way less formidable in its capabilities.

x2 to solar absorption

x2 negation to mental attacks

Conductivity

Herald effect - One-time use in a year to forcibly summon the God Erlezos Erizos.

"This...this. " she couldn't help but stutter as this was even better than her sister's battle dress the Fae"s Pride. It had been what made her quite eager to accomplish her quests. Although she knew that each piece of armor was made to suit them well.

[EQUIP]

Seeing the word floating before her she smiled and then accepted. A flash of light appeared illuminating the tent in a bright light before dimming quickly.

The armor was now on her body. Well fitted and hugging to her shape. Making several stretches she smiled at the comfort it brought.

This is better than anything I have had she realized. Yet she knew there was more to come. While she already knew about the reward to be earned at the end of this journey she wondered what the other would give her. Remembering Carla's second reward she hoped it would be something like that.

"I doubt though. All my skills have been pushing me to learn unarmed combat. I even had to defeat that Orc barehanded. I doubt my reward would be any sort of weapon like that then. Maybe a skill or something or some magic or something better than this armor. " Excited she bounded out ready to show off her reward to Carla.
