113 - The Rantings of a Tree

Haaah

A heavy breath escaped the lips of the man as he exerted himself. In his hand was grasped a longsword. His upper body bare as his feet moved about in steps that weren't foreign to him.

His movement was fluid but strained. His body was already heavy but yet light. Beads of 'sweat' or some bodily liquid accumulated on his head ruining his concept about the lack of strain for his kind.

The soft texture of the low field grass soothed his soles as he kept up his swings. Each swing carried a heaviness that caused ripples in the air. Every slash left a quiver wherever it passed.

He'd been at it for the longest time actively trying to increase his prowess with the blade. As he trained though a huge towering tree watched him its branches swaying with the wind. The environment was vividly different from a month ago when it had last seen all the rest of its siblings together in one place.

Unlike the others who could move about, she was physically bound to her spot. A problem that she solved by spreading her sense everywhere. While it wasn't close to the same as a physical movement it was the best unless she intended to uproot herself from the land.

The sky was a radiant mix of colors, from blue to purple, gold and white, and silver and red. There wasn't a single hue missing in the sky, even the clouds that floated here and there came in golden color.

It gave an elegant beauty to it. The environment stretched for miles as far as her eyes could see. Settled at the very center of this environment was a large palace made from a mix of metals and stones. Even ores from stars had been used to forge the beauty. It was as white as snow more so than snow.

Just like her, it towered straight into the sky piercing the clouds with its four spires. One is taller than the other with the tallest behind the three and each of the three at a higher point than the other.

Below the three spires was a ring of sorts not visible from outside but clear from within. To many, it was the highest point of the tower from the inside but to those who knew it was only the very base. Below and to the very ground was the grand palace itself. It felt empty, no, was empty with nothing but grand gigantic walls that even colossal giants would be dwarfed before. Every inch of the place was empty.

Probably why most of her siblings ignored it for now.

She had been placed here by her father. To be closer he said. Her mountain was now situated right by the palace while she towered up to the skies with only a single leaf breaching the clouds.

"I'll grow more " she remembered herself saying when her father laughed at what he considered her shortness. A snort escaped her. As if he was even up past her roots.

Her gaze which was weirdly without eyes moved to the parts of the land where several different colored gates were situated. Useless they were but aesthetically pleasing to the eye

First was the one gate huge and right in front of the palace. Its body was wooden and earthen simultaneously while covered with vines and giving off a green energy that made her feel giddy even from here.

By the sides on its right and left consecutively were two gates. One white with a burning fervor of red and golden flames. The next was made of metal yet a balance of white and black energy from it made her feel both sated and repulsed.

Seven other gates formed a circle around themselves behind the first three gates. Each gate had a different color that was specifically tailored to one of her siblings. The gates were congregated in a way that they were in the middle of a path which led right past tbe first three gates and into the grand entrance of the palace.

Its starting point though was at another gate. This one was simply a huge arch with simmering transparent liquid that was unseen until touched.

Spread out in various parts was nothing but fields and mountains none comparing to hers but still grand in their ways. Below at her roots, the man had finally finished his training. Something he'd been doing for the past week or two.

Probably wondering why he was here and not out-creating. Simple. For the first time, Father had nothing to make again. At least not yet. It gave him time to spend with all of us too so it was a win.

Birthing my siblings had made him realize that just like with Big bro he should have made us all at the very start. Simply because we made a lot of things easier for him. Cough. They. I've been doing nothing but standing here feeding off the energy around me and growing.

But I feel less bad about it since my father convinced me that my purpose was greater than anything the rest could do. Though he warned me to keep his words to myself less the others got envious.

'So our kind feel envious too. Hmmh'.

From everything I learned in my head, I thought we would be special and different. Yet we feel just like higher forms of what we seek to finally make.

Yes, father shared many things with us, even the cold and reserved night elf as well as the trying-to-be uncaring bi-colored sister. Seems like the death aspect is what makes her cold at times.

I'm digressing here. Anyways with each one's help, father made a lot of things since then. He tailored realms for everyone since everyone wanted places to themselves. Father had to acquiesce and build rooms .. cough... realms for us. Bad idea if I say so. That thunder girl just locks herself up in there watching animes downloaded from Dad's memories.

Lazy bum.

Anyway now there was the Night realm, which comes with many names but we all get the point, then there's the Paradox realm, a confusing place if you ask me, with no single normal habitat in there. Even dad got lost once, literally had to unravel the whole place just to get out before fixing it back up. Second bro wasn't too happy with that.

Hehehe.

Third bro got a realm of pure water. The Deep Realm. Lousy naming if you ask me. The only land there is just a tiny island that he uses to meet us who hate the water. Though we'd have to enter his realm first to actually get to the island. Then there's that bookworm, between her love for books and that thunder girl's addiction to anime and movies I'm not sure which was worse. Her realm was basically a cross between a desert and sky towers. A bad place for acrophobic people. Mum hates that place. Heh. Funny. Worse still she made the place a no-go area, even for dad. Cause to enter means providing her with information she doesn't already know. Crazy right? Anyway, she calls her realm Terran. Nothing to do with her aspect. Thanks father. Though I doubt he had anything to do with it.

Hehehe.

The man below gave the swaying tree a look at its chuckles, his four eyes narrowing which sent a shiver down its nonexistent spine and shutting it up before he went back to his training.

'Scary eyes there dad.'The tree giggled to itself its roots jiggling in amusement while shaking off the little fear it just felt.
