The Idol’s Wife

It was a little past 9, and the lads played video games while sitting on the floor next to the tv. The lasses circled the table- pen, and paper on hand, trying to solve the murder mystery board game. 


The place was loud and full of laughters and banters. Amy thought it was the perfect Christmas Eve - making happy memories with old and new friends. She could not remember the last time she was this happy on a Christmas Eve. 


She glanced at where Jim was sitting and saw that he was also looking at her. Amy's heart thumped. 'God's perfect gift to women' she thought, '- and he was hers.' 


It was undeniable that Amy loved Jim. But at the same time, she was scared. She was scared to put Jim and herself in a situation where they could be caught between their career and lover. 


Amy's heart broke at the thought of Jim having to leave his career for her or, worst, leaving her for his career.
