Amy's facial expression turned sour the moment she answered her home phone. There was an emergency surgery that needed her supervision and expertise. And by her position and Hippocratic oath, she had no choice but to show up and do what she was expected to do.

"No, I'm lucky to have you," Jim said as he embraced Amy. "Let me pick you up after work."

"Okay." Amy retreated. She would have preferred to stay under his embrace longer but had to go. So she said goodbye to the lot, who seemed unbothered by what was happening.

"Just when things got interesting." Alex pouted but nevertheless hugged Amy goodbye.
