Chapter 29

"Rosebud? What do you want with her?" the anger in his voice caused Sam to pull back. He knew that he needed to tread carefully or else this wolf-less prisoner would have his throat.

"Easy there my friend. I just wanted to know about her that's all, but I thought her name was Trishanna?"

"Why?"

Scratching behind his head, Sam decided to be honest. If this was her best friend, then his Alpha would be pissed if he did something to upset his mate whether directly or not. "Well, it seems that your friend is my Alpha's mate. That makes her my Luna. I mean her no harm or disrespect, but the fight you saw earlier was about her. It seems as though your Alpha wants to claim her as his own, but since she is unmarked, Alpha Bradley is desperate to claim what is rightfully his."

Samuel sat back down. If what he says is true, it could mean that Trishanna would leave here once and for all. Yet, if this Alpha is worse than James, he could be sending her from the pan straight into the fire. "As you said, she is my best friend. Why should I tell you anything about her? For all, I know your pack could be the worst thing for her."

Sam was impressed. He thought that this guy would spill the beans in exchange for getting out of there. "Good point. How about you tell me what I want to know, and I'll get the guards to let you out?"

"How about you go take a long walk on a short pier?"

Sam laughed. This omega was alright in his books. If he had any say, he would take him back to Goldmoon. "Well, I guess I can't make you talk." Shrugging he turned, "I hear that she was of questionable character and had made her rounds through your pack. I guess with a reputation like that, no wonder she got the name 'Trash'."

Samuel was angry at the lies being spouted from the Beta's mouth. He rushed to the bars and tried to grab him. He figured that he was already in jail, it wouldn't make a difference if he spent another night or ten, but he would be damned if anyone talked about his friend that way.

Sam was not prepared for how quickly Samuel moved. He barely made his escape, and his torn shirt was proof of just how pissed he was. "Geez dude, relax. That's not what I heard. Well, at least the nickname was mentioned a few times."

"THAT'S NOT HER NAME" Samuel shouted. The veins were bulging in his neck and if he had a wolf, he would have shifted by now.

"Alright, calm down. What are you so mad about?" He watched until Samuel seemed to be in a better frame of mind, before drawing closer to where he stood.

"I'm sorry man. It just hurts me so much to know that my friend has been hurt by that bastard known as Alpha James, and there isn't much I can do about it." Samuel walked back to his cot and sat down. Defeat slumping his shoulders. "I just want to save her from this place.

If you can promise me that Rosebud will be safe with your Alpha and your pack, I'll tell you what you want to know."

Bradley got more and more livid with what his Beta found. It took a few minutes of him calming down his wolf who wanted nothing more than to find that weakling of a wolf and tear him to shreds. Taking a deep breath. He leaned his head back and tried to think calmly.

Based on the fight that just happened, it didn't look like James would let her go without trying to stop it. Since Trishanna is unmarked and a member of Bloodmoon, Bradley would have to move carefully. He would hate that his pack moved into their new home with a ready-made enemy right across the border. Thanking Sam, he excused him so they both can get ready.

Experience has taught him if his aunt said one hour, he'd better be there with five minutes to spare.
