New Beginnings
Alex had about two weeks before the start of the semester. During this time he contacted all of his close friends and acquaintances, canceled his other engagements and put in some heavy work on the remaining contracts for the bondsmen, all of which were fairly simple and paid well, his friends and family he informed that he would have to be off the radar for some time because of a new job.
But he would contact them as soon as he could. Preparing for the next two weeks He went out and bought a few more sets of women's clothes and workout clothes. If he was going to be presenting to people in his female shifted form, He needed to get used to moving around and interacting with people in the form.
So for two weeks she focused on completing the daily tasks, and doing some preliminary study in the fields she would be spending some considerable time on in the near future. As well as working in the Theron language. She was still a good ways away from understanding the language enough to properly translate it.
It was the day before she would need to head to the first classes, and she had just completed the daily quests for the day and wanted to take the rest of the day off to rest. 'Status' she opened up the status screen

She noticed that at some point during the last two weeks she had leveled up and was on the way towards level three. The decision came to contemplating what to apply the skill and status points to, For the present time, she figured that adding the skill points to the Theron language was the best option, It would give her a better command of the language, and understanding of it to help out what his plans are for translating the technical documents of the ship.
A new flood of information about the Theron language flooded her head, more rules of grammar and such. She felt that she could now carry on a proper conversation with others in the language, It would still be a the level of a non-native speaker with a thick accent however. But she could now start listening to things on the ship and understand the audio information.
Alex contemplates what to do with the status points, after a few minutes she decides to apply them to Intelligence, as she hoped that would help him to learn the new information easier, and figuring out the ship faster. She confirms the selection, and it begins to feel like something is crawling through his head, It starts as a slightly uncomfortable feeling, and slowly becoming more prevalent, and then he passes out crumpling on the floor.
After several hours of being unconscious, it now being late afternoon almost early evening Alex regained consciousness, feeling a bit sore from the awkward position she fell into when her mind just shut off, his neck feeling quite stiff. 'Why did I just pass out like that? Wait... 'Status' she willed up the base stats screen

'I see, It is similar to when I increased the body stat to 10. I guess because it wasn't a natural advancement of the stat, I passed out, and my brain likely shut off before I started feeling any pain. considering that It was a mental stat that increased. It's likely that It would have been quite painful,
Though it also seems that when using stat points to raise the levels, It will only bring it up to the next point value, and will erase whatever progress I have made on it. A minor loss I would say all things considered. though its not like such points come all that frequently, and it seems that each level up the xp to get to then next level increases by a large factor as well.' Alex muses over the changes that has happened.
After resettling herself with the changes, and confirming with the AI that all is well with her physically and mentally, She wanted to see if the changes had any effects on her mental capabilities. It was one thing to see them as numbers, but a totally different thing to put them into effect to see how those numbers actually worked in practice.
So she picked out one of the textbooks that she would be using in the classes for astrophysics and began to read it. The book was some three hundred and twenty pages in length. After three and a half hours she was done reading the book, and better than expected, she had the book memorized. A notification also came up informing her of a level gain to her astrophysics knowledge.
'Well, I think that choosing to boost the intelligence stat just may have helped me accelerate my plans. This now makes me wonder, If 10 is the base stat for humanity, what then would be the status of someone of the same level of mind as the smartest people? I guess that I might as well start putting to use that analyze skill again that I've been neglecting.'
Alex looks at the clock and notices it being around eight in the evening. She decides to go to bed early to get to the college a bit ahead of schedule, and possibly finish off another text book before the start of the class.
