Chapter - 25 - Hail Dr.G!

"The details are all on point. I will forward it to Dr.Henry and we will have to wait for some more days before they give us a complete green light." Gianna informed the team looking at the files. "Didn't you get an approval Dr.G so why would we need another green light?" asked Alice in confusion. Gianna leaned on her chair and said, "Life is full of politics. They would go through the team list, then they would find a fault in one of you or they would request me to add one more person. If my guess is right it will probably be Victor who they want out." Victor looked at Dr.G in shock. "But why me?"

Gianna looked at Victor and said, "To add a member who will be loyal to the higher officials. You are the chief for these three and also the closest to me. They know I will never be flexible to their terms so they want someone in my team to inform them of my every move. The higher ups think I am more lethal than those criminals out there." Gianna winked at them and returned to type on her keyboard. The team never imagined the higher officials would be so determined in opposing Dr.G.

"Don't worry. If I know how to propose my project, then I also know how to execute it. You can all leave now and continue with your work." Gianna gave a faint smile and started typing on her keyboard again. "Dr.G, Mr.Ellerbrock asked your permission to station three of his men to guard Mr.Alexander. What should I say to him?" asked Ralph before leaving Gianna's office. Gianna looked at him and asked, "Did he really ask my permission?" Ralph bobbed his head in response. "Tell him to ask the administration for permission. It's fine with me, if the management has no problem with it."

The team excused themselves from Dr.G's office and headed to the staff station to have a little chat with the nurses. Ralph asked the team to go ahead and stopped by Alexander's room and informed Mr.Noah what Dr.G told, as Mr.Ellerbrock was not there in the room. Ralph then headed to the cafe to buy coffee for the team.

"Even I couldn't believe it at first but Claire saw it with her own eyes." said a woman in her mid-twenties. "How come all the handsome guys are dating Dr.G? Yesterday it was Dr.Jason and now it is Dr.Zane." Ralph was not shocked at all when he listened to the residents' conversation. It was because Dr.Zane had already warned him about the rumor. He immediately walked towards the women who were sitting on the nearby table.

"Hey ladies. May I sit here for a moment?" asked Ralph, wearing a charming smile on his face. Ralph himself was a handsome guy in his mid twenties with a fair complexion and dark brown eyes. He is 5'9" tall and has a slim figure. The women couldn't resist his charm and allowed him to sit with them. He casually started asking about their basic details and complemented both of them for their beauty. He then slowly diverted the topic and said, "I too heard about the rumor you were talking about that Dr.G is dating Dr.Zane, but it's not true."

The women looked questioningly at him. "Don't misunderstand me. I am a good friend of Dr.Zane's. I too asked him about it and it turned out that Dr.Zane coincidentally met Dr.G in the cafeteria and wanted to know the details about Dr.G's project. He wanted to know whether his department could be of any help for her project. It got me thinking, well who wouldn't want to work with a medical genius. Don't you ladies think so?" The women turned their thinking mode on for a few seconds and nodded with agreement to Ralph's statement. They also thought how wonderful it would be to work with Dr.G. Ralph was at ease when his mission was successful and was about to leave when one of the women asked him.

"If you don't mind, can you introduce us to Dr.Zane?" Ralph knew that he shot his own foot. If he comes up with any excuse at this moment all his effort would go in the drain. He thought that Dr.Zane would understand him and said, "Sure, why not? Let me give him a call."

Zane on the other hand just sat on his chair after attending three cases in a row. Right when he thought he could relax a little his phone started to ring again. He grunted and looked at caller ID and it was Ralph who was calling him. He immediately attended the call thinking it was something related to Dr.G.

Ralph told him that he was at the cafe and asked Dr.Zane to meet him there. Zane thought Ralph wanted to talk about Gianna, so he walked fast towards the cafe. Ralph caught a glimpse of Dr.Zane's figure and turned to look at him. Ralph winked at Dr.Zane as they made a brief eye contact. Zane didn't understand what was going on but he knew that something was definitely off. Ralph got up from his seat and greeted Dr.Zane with respect and casually introduced the two ladies.

The women were so happy that they finally had a chance to meet the rumored Greek God in a close up. Zane smiled at them politely and looked at Ralph with millions of emotions in his eyes. Ralph understood the unspoken emotions and said, "These beautiful ladies were talking about the rumor and I cleared it up but the ladies wanted to hear it from you so they can be cent percent sure." Ralph was confident that Dr.Zane would never say no to anything related to Dr.G.

The brief silence was broken by the waiter who informed that Ralph's order was ready to go. Ralph leaned to Zane's shoulder and whispered, "Hail Dr.G! I will rescue you soon." Ralph turned to the ladies and said with a smile, "Dr.Zane is here and please enjoy. Unfortunately I have to leave as my chief asked me to come back." He bid them goodbye and left quickly.

Zane stood there helplessly looking at the departing figure of Dr.Ralph.
