"Sit down. I came to give you a shot," said Zane, pointing at the couch. "What shot?" asked Gianna as she sat on the couch. "I assumed you would be in pain once you woke up. So I brought the pain killer. I will get busy later and won't be able to take care of you."
Gianna chuckled and said, "So you really are a good doctor!" Zane smiled and injected the pain killer. "Take a nap. Alice will wake you up. I will come later and change your bandage," said Zane. "Thank you," said Gianna with a smile. He winked at her and left the room hurriedly after closing the door. Gianna smiled and lay down on the couch after disabling the alarm. She was exhausted and drifted off to sleep very soon.
Rick came up with another plan after the long restless night. He went out early in the morning to plan the next ploy. 'I should have been back home by today! That stupid man had to interfere at the correct time to spoil all my plan!' thought Rick as he sat on the bus. He looked at the calm sky and wondered what Gianna was up to. His phone rang, disturbing his thoughts, and the call was from Derrick.
"Where did you go so early?" asked Derrick. "Why did you call me so early?" "Nothing much. I wanted to know what our next plan is." "I will let you know when I have one," said Rick and hung up the call. He got out of the bus soon after and walked to his destination.
Gianna could hear someone calling her name from a distance and searched for the person desperately. The voice was clearer and sharper as she moved closer. "Dr.G! Wake up!" said Alice in a sweet voice. Gianna opened her eyes, still in shock, and saw Alice sitting near her. Gianna let out a sigh of relief and rubbed her eyes as she sat up on the couch slowly. She opened her eyes and saw Dr.Henry, Dr.Jason, her team, the bodyguards, and Alexander staring at her.
Gianna was stunned and greeted all of them in confusion. She stood up and walked toward Alexander. "Do you feel any discomfort? Are you alright?" asked Gianna as she took a good look at him. "All good," said Alexander with a sweet smile. Gianna nodded at his response and asked others, "Why are you all here?"
Dr.Henry stepped forward and asked, "How is your arm? Do you have any other injuries?" Gianna chuckled and asked, "I didn't know Dr.Henry actually cared for me, or am I dreaming?" Stanley passed a bottle of water to Gianna. She thanked him and gulped down the water. "I am really fine! I will live for many more years to continue to be a pain in the a** for you, Chief," said Gianna with a smile.
"I do care about my juniors including you, Gianna. How can you joke like this when you are hurt? Do one thing! Go home and take a rest for a few days," said Henry in a slightly raised voice. "Thank you for caring about me, Chief, but I still have a lot of work to do here! For now, let me get freshened up!" said Gianna as she led Dr.Henry and others out of the room.
Dr.Henry knew he could never convince his arrogant junior and let Gianna do as she wished. "Why don't you take a rest until your injury gets healed? We will take care of everything here!" said Dr.Jason as they walked into the corridor. Gianna shook her head and said, "The injury is not a big deal, Dr.Jason. Thanks for your concern."
Once Gianna decides on something, no one can ever change her mind. At last, all their words carried no effect on Gianna, and she went to get freshened up. Gianna returned to the department room and saw a bowl of hot soup on the table. "Mr.Ellerbrock sent us breakfast! Herbal chicken soup for you and delicious sandwiches for us," said Ralph as he laid the breakfast on the table.
"Don't you know accepting these things from a patient's family is against the rules?" asked Gianna in a raised voice. "Dr.Henry was present when the food arrived, and he told us to accept it," said Victor. "Don't accept it next time, no matter who permits you. Understood?" warned Gianna as she took a seat at the table. She and the team started to have breakfast as they discussed the schedule for the day.
Gianna felt a weird feeling when she drank the soup. It felt like she had had this soup somewhere but couldn't remember it. The soup was not a Velaris special, and Gianna had no clue where she had tasted the soup before. She reminded herself to ask Alexander later about the soup and quickly finished it. The clock struck nine, and they started with the rounds as usual.
By now, the entire hospital was aware of the incident which took place the previous night, and everyone couldn't stop talking about it. As she went to examine the patients, everyone showed their concern for Gianna throughout the rounds. They were all really concerned about Dr.G and suggested she take a few days off. Gianna assured each of them that she was alright before leaving the ward.
She entered Alexander's room and saw Mr.Peter standing cautiously. "How do you feel after a long sleep?" asked Gianna, looking at all the four bodyguards. They hung their heads and didn't answer her. "There is nothing to be ashamed of, instead be grateful you could see another day. Stay alert from now on and do not let anyone other than us," said Gianna in a domineering tone.
All of them nodded and returned to their positions.
"How are you?" "Good," said Alexander in a steady voice. "Do you know where Mr.Ellerbrock bought the chicken soup from?" asked Gianna as Victor was checking the chart. Alexander thought for a moment and asked in a surprised tone, "Herbal Soup!"
